One evening on the street of Alawode, I was walking briskly toward the market, my mind busy with what to prepare for the family. Time was not on my side, and my steps reflected that urgency. Then, suddenly, something made me slow down. A shadow—soft, and layered—caught my eyes.

It came from this potted plant by the roadside; its golden-green leaves cast delicate patterns against the wall. In that brief moment, hurry gave way to wonder. I stopped, raised my phone, and captured the scene. Passersby slowed too, staring at me with puzzled looks, probably wondering why anyone would pause in such a rush-hour moment.

But I'm so glad I did. That small act of stopping gifted me this image—waiting patiently for me to notice. Had I ignored that quiet pull, I wouldn't have this picture to share today, or even this moment to remember.
This is my entry to the @shadowhunters SMASh contest—Round 405, initiated by @melinda010100.
