My brothers from Ankara came to visit us. We went to a tavern for dinner to make a difference. My wife and I don't drink alcohol. My brother, his wife and his friend do, so we accompanied them. They drank raki and we drank coke.
Ankara’dan abimler bizi ziyarete geldiler. Farklılık olsun diye akşam yemeğinde meyhaneye gittik. Eşim ile ben alkol kullanmıyoruz. Abim,eşi ve arkadaşı kullandıkları için bizde onlara eşlik ettik. Onlar rakı içti biz ise kola.
I want to tell you about the venue... We were very pleased. It was very dim and calm. I was going to take a picture of the outside but I forgot and I was a bit upset about it. It's a long-established venue, not a new one, so you can already tell from the ambiance. It attracts attention with its nostalgia. The old photographs on the walls were the part that caught my attention the most.
Asıl ben size mekandan bahsetmek istiyorum… Biz çok memnun kaldık. Çok loş ve sakin bir mekandı. Dışarıdan fotoğrafını çekecektim ancak unutmuşum. Bu duruma biraz canım sıkıldı. Köklü bir mekan yeni değil o yüzden zaten ortamından anlıyorsunuz. Nostaljisiyle dikkat çekiyor. Duvarlardaki eski fotoğraflar benim en çok dikkatimi çeken kısımdı.
We preferred meatballs and fish at the table. I think they had mastered the fish. The fish was very fresh and very tasty. I can say that it melts in your mouth like cotton.
Masa da köfte ve balık tercih ettik. Bence balık üzerine ustalaşmışlardı. Balıklar çok taze ve çok lezzetliydi. Pamuk gibi ağızda dağılıyor diyebilirim.
The view! Let's talk about the view... the place was right on the beach in Eminönü. So the sea view was perfect. All you had to do was to enjoy the moment with the songs.
Manzara! Gelilelim manzaraya… tam olarak zaten mekan Eminönü’nü sahildeydi. O yüzden deniz manzarası mükemmeldi. Size de şarkılarla beraber anın tadını çıkarmak kalıyordu.
I definitely don't think it's the food, the place or the view that makes the table beautiful at times like this. I think some moments are made beautiful by the people you are chatting with. When you have a nice conversation, you lose track of time...
Böyle zamanlarda masayı güzelleştiren şeyin asıl yemek, mekan veya manzara olduğunu kesinlikle düşünmüyorum. Bence bazı anları sohbet ettiğiniz insanlar güzelleştiriyor. Hoş sohbet olduğunda zamanın nasıl geçtiğini anlamıyorsunuz bile…
