It's that time of the year when I'm back with another set of wonderful artworks of a certain category. This is different from what you usually see in my posts, for a very good reason.
I've been waiting for this exhibition and was really happy last week, to step into the the exhibition room, smell the fresh paint and spend 30 minutes or so in a totally different world than the usual art world.

The reason this exhibition is so special and dear to me is because the artists are all high school students, at their final year and most likely this is the biggest exhibition of theirs so far, but who knows, maybe I'm wrong on that.
I'm always specifying this at the beginning of my post, so you know who you're dealing with and to judge the paintings accordingly. These students only have a few years of experience, so you can't expect them to raise at Picasso, Rembrandt and Vermeer level. There's a long way ahead of them, a lot of practice, trial and error, joy and disappointment included as well, but let's see what they had to show us this year.
But before I start, the mandatory photo of the gallery, taken from the entrance.
When I had a look around in the first room and saw the paintings, knew right away that they have the same themes or guidelines each year, when it comes to their year end work as I recognize the style after three or four years of experience.
Working on the same theme doesn't however mean you see the same paintings each year. Creativity and talent sets them apart, the diversity of creations you see is amazing as you see so many wonderful paintings each year.
To my surprise, this year there were way more paintings than last year. I'm not sure if they were allowed to exhibit more paintings, or there were more students. I hope the latter.
At first glance, the most obvious detail that I noticed was that they were not shy in using colors. This is not a bad thing at all. They need to experience with colors as much as possible and they did exactly that.
None of the works had a title, so feel free to name them, tell me what you see, or what you think they symbolize.
This is where things started to get interesting for me. This is a particular style and as I lack education in this regard, I asked AI to tell me what style this is. You can't imagine the analysis I got, that I was just rolling my eyes. I'm not going to post it here as analyzing the paintings from artistic point of view is not my job, I'm not qualified for that, but it was fun.
Anyway, what I see here is a landscape, or maybe a part of the village, with three houses and the road passing by them. I like it.
Another interesting one, just can't figure out what it is. Maybe an abstract bird's nest?
Geometric still life, as I call it, is always a topic and you'll be amazed how creative these teenagers can be.
Even though it isn't, this globe reminded me of those mirror disco globes of the 80's? I don't even know when those were a thing. The reason why it made me think of disco globes is how the artist chose to have the light cross the globe. Even if you don't like it, you have to admit that you need some imagination and 3D vision to paint such a painting.
This still life is most likely the one I'd like on my wall. I love how Tamás Szabó chose to have a plant on the table, next to the fruits and still make it geometric. Lovely idea.
This is the other painting that I'd be happy to have. It's a bit chaotic, but just as much as it is needed and that's a good thing in this case. I love the colors a lot.
Ok, this is it for today, let me know what you think and don't forget, you are seeing the work of teenagers, not artists with decades of practice and experience.
