At the corner of 27th and 47th Streets in Cali, Colombia, the Sabor Caribe ice cream shop opened, so I went to check it out to see the flavors and compare the quality to other places I’ve visited.
When I arrived at the shop, there were many options, but when I saw the Banana Split, I told my husband I wanted that ice cream because it reminds me of my high school days, when I was a senior; after school, I would go to the mall, and that was my favorite kind of ice cream.
This Banana Split had its three signature flavors: vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. As is customary, they served it in a long cup, placed chopped banana at both ends and the scoops of ice cream in the center, topped with whipped cream, pieces of strawberry and peach, strawberry syrup, and pieces of graham cracker.
The whipped cream added a wonderful creamy touch; it pairs perfectly with these ice cream flavors. I also liked that they included pieces of fruit, as they enhanced the experience—the slight tartness of the strawberries and peaches contrasted nicely with the sweetness.
I loved it; I’d have it again and again. The Banana Split met my expectations and took me back to my younger years, just as I’d hoped. It had been a while since I’d felt so satisfied after eating ice cream, and it’s moments like these that make life worth living.
The Sabor Caribe shop was cozy, decorated in pastel tones with brightly colored tables. The service was outstanding; the staff were very attentive, and as for the presentation of the ice cream, there’s something for everyone, from cones to cups and takeout containers. They also offer fruit salads and other desserts. In my opinion, the prices are quite reasonable, which made this experience even more enjoyable.

En la calle 27 con 47 de la ciudad de Cali en Colombia, inauguraron la heladería Sabor Caribe, así que acudí a visitarla para ver los sabores y también comparar la calidad con respecto a otros lugares que he visitado.
Al llegar al local había muchas opciones, pero cuando observé Banana Split le dije a mi esposo que quería ese helado porque me recuerda a mi época de bachillerato, cuando estudiaba cuarto año, ya que al salir de clases me iba al Centro Comercial y ese era mi tipo de helado favorito.
Este Banana Split tenía sus tres sabores característicos; mantecado, chocolate y fresa, como es costumbre, lo sirvieron en un envase alargado, colocaron el cambur picado en ambos extremos y las bolas de helado en el centro, acompañados de crema batida, trozos de fresa y durazno, sirope de fresa y además pedazos de galleta dulce.
La crema batida le dio un toque de cremosidad excelente, combina muy bien con estos sabores de helados. También me agradó que le incluyeran pedazos de frutas porque mejoraron la experiencia ya que el toque amargo de la fresa y el durazno contrastaban con el dulce.
Me encantó, lo volvería a probar una y otra vez, el Banana Split cumplió con mis expectativas y me trasladó a mis años mozos, tal como quería. Tenía tiempo que no me sentía tan satisfecha tras degustar un helado y justamente son estos los momentos los que hacen que la vida valga la pena.
El local de Sabor Caribe era acogedor, estaba decorado con tonos pasteles y con mesas de colores llamativos. La atención fue para destacar, las muchachas fueron muy atentas y en cuanto a la presentación de los helados hay para todos los gustos, desde barquillas hasta vasos y envases para llevar. Ofrecen, además, ensaladas de frutas y otros postres. Según mi criterio, los precios son bastante accesibles lo que hizo más placentera esta experiencia.
