Slaves and its master - Monomad challenge

in Black And White7 days ago

This is my entry for the #monomad challenge hosted and curated by @monochromes

Hello my Monomad friend, how are you today? I wish that I see you all healthy and happy today. Today I want to share some of the cruelty of this world, where some animal has turn or adapting to make use of other to be thier slaves to be able for them to survive.

And these slaves today are pretty strong and also very brave. And these slaves are a lot bigger in size compared to its master, and the master seems to be pretty helpless on their own.

The slaves are these black ants that their brain has been altered by the aphids, so that the ants will take care of them, cater for its need and also woudl gladly be their security.

You can see the master as the tiny white specs in the leaf, surrounded by the bigger ants. The secret is some sugary substance that they produce which then got eaten by the ants, so that the ants would glady surrender themselve for the master.

The sugary substance that become the food for the ants are produced by the aphids as part of their digestive system, and the secreted through their butt. hmmm certainly coming out fro the glory hole, as that sugary substance wil make the ant be their slave, and also could totally alter the way the ant's brain works.

And for the farmers that can be a proble,, because the aphid will suck out the water from the lea. As you can see the leaf will curl inward because of the aphids, and the their ant slaves, will hinder their natural predator from attacking them, as the ants will provide the protection for them.

I'd say it isn't slavery. It is a mutually beneficial relationship.
Ants demonstrate farming techniques that benefit their whole colony.
Symbiotic relationships for the win!

you are right my friend, they just benefit one another. but at some article that I read, while they can farm the aphid, but there will be times that the ants will only eat from the aphids, and they are greatly dependant of them. Which is kinda become the slave of the aphids, although they get the food from them.
