We cannot live the Christian life as we are meant while holding on to habits that compromise our body and spirit. Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, abusing them through drugs distances us from God's divine will and purpose. Not to talk of the implications that accompany them.
When we refuse to resist what is happening to us we face the repercussion. God doesn't delight in seeing His children live in anguish. God is ready to restore anyone who returns back to Him with the whole of their heart made up not to go back. But we must take the step of obedience—cutting off from bad vices, seeking support, and staying rooted in prayers.
Freedom from addiction is very much possible. It first begins with us surrendering, then we have to be disciplined not to give in to the cravings of our flesh. It is the grace of God that keeps us preserved especially in this wicked world. Walking back into bondage should not even be an option to be thought of.
