Before I slept last night, I brought out my daily planner to set a to-do list for the day. This is not yet a daily habit for me, but I am trying to make it one because it has proven to be very helpful. I had so much I needed to do, and instead of doing them off the top of my head, I decided to write them down and tick them off as I fulfilled each task. I think that’s the most interesting part of having to-do lists — that sense of achievement you get after ticking a task off the list. It's an amazing feeling that fuels my level of productivity.

Well, I made my list with so much motivation and then went to bed. I slept quite late, so I woke up late as well. My body needed that rest, so I just gave in without struggling. By the time I woke up, I already felt overwhelmed by the tasks I had written down the night before. Even with all that, I still decided to do what I could before the day ended. From one to two, to three, I began ticking off tasks I had completed on my list.
One of the craziest tasks I set for myself for the day was to finish a particular book I’ve been struggling to read. It's a business book, and I’ve mentioned it in my previous posts — This is Marketing by Seth Godin. As good as the book is, I’ve been struggling with reading it. Some chapters are unnecessarily too long, and I dislike that in books so much. Somehow, I had created a limitation in my head that I might not be able to finish it.
So, you can imagine how crazy setting a goal to actually complete it in a day seemed. Eventually, I read more of it than I ever had in a single day, but I still wasn’t able to finish it. Apparently, finishing it was a bit unrealistic because other things on my list would have had to suffer for it. Anyway, I’m almost halfway through, and I’ll make sure to move at a faster pace again tomorrow.
At the end of the day, I was able to complete 8 out of the 11 tasks I had written down. I would have actually commended myself for trying, but the remaining three tasks I didn’t do were very important. I was meant to write two posts here on Hive. Guess who’s just making her first post?

I was also meant to watch my course for a few hours, but I wasn't able to do that either. The third task I failed to do was to watch some videos on YouTube to refresh my memory on a particular topic, but I didn't even get to open the app.
Well, it's the start of another day and a chance to do better. I won’t beat myself up for the things I wasn’t able to do because I just have to keep moving. Cheers to another super productive day ahead 🥂
Thanks for reading ♥️
