Splinterlands is an online collectible card game using the blockchain technology. Every user will need cards to play the game, these cards or assets are NFTs (Non-Fungible Token) which can be traded. These cards is used to play against other players. Now every card will have the unique ability and they are divided between Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary. The more the ability, the more it can help you to win the games and the more expensive it becomes.
The Splinterlands team has launched one more format after Wild and Modern and it is Known as Survival Mode. Just like the Wild and Modern kt is a ranked play format. From this season we can play in the Survival Mode. Also in this format we can play with all the cards just like the Wild Format. So people who have old alpha or beta cards can use this opportunity to play with their card. Now with the Wild card we used to pay a fee whereas with the Survival Mode there is no fee as such.
But there is a catch, first of all there is no energy required to play so you can play with all the cards. Next is that if any card dies in the battle you cannot use that card in any other format. The card will get revived after certain period but till that time you cannot use that card in any format. You will get the rewards in this if you win.
The Survival Mode is simply how well you can manage your cards. More cards you have more chances of winning in the Survival mode. I liked the format, but the question is how many people will actually play it. It's because people who are playing other formats don't want to give up their cards in the Survival Mode. But again if you have some cards which is lying around like the old cards and if you are not playing the Wild format then you can actually use that card for the Survival Mode.
This is the cooldown for the cards if they die in the Survival mode.
Now how I will be playing in the survival mode. I will use all my old cards and even if it dies not a problem because I will not able to play with that cards in the Modern format. And once my old cards are died then I will play in the modern format with all my new cards.
