Week #254/ 80's = Music, Color and Good Vibes

This theme is perfect for me, because it takes me back to one of the best times of my life. For the 80's, I was still a child, but about to enter adolescence, so I enjoyed a lot of those years to the fullest and what I enjoyed most was the music, the vibrant colors in fashion, the crazy hairstyles, the carefree way we lived, at least in my country at that time; but let's start in order, I loved the music of that time and it is still my favorite, the singers of that time in my opinion were the best, for a proof the singer Freddie Mercury of the group Queen, Michael Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, were great and from this side of the planet, there was the Sun of Mexico Luis Miguel, from my country the singer Karina, Guillermo Davila among others, I enjoyed the music of those 80's and I still do.

I also loved the crazy hairstyles of that time, and although I had straight hair, I insisted on perming it to make it look in tune with the fashion of that time. On the other hand, I loved vibrant colors, both in makeup, clothing and accessories; I remember my friends and I would try to match everything as it was used. The shoulder pads were very popular and I used them a lot now I find them horrendous ha, ha, ha, ha another point to highlight was that I liked the innocence that was still handled among the youth, it was healthier enjoyment at least in my country and environment, you could go out without fear of someone kidnapping you, drugging you, everything was more discreet in some things and it was not that bad things did not happen, but they were less common.

Now let's talk about the worst of the 80s. What impacted me the most during that time was the AIDS epidemic, which became very popular all over the world and in my country it was no exception; discrimination against people who knew they were carriers of this disease began. At the beginning there was a total lack of knowledge about the disease, but after the population was informed about the ways of contagion, how to prevent and awareness was created and even judicial measures were taken against those who discriminated, everything was better, but this marked a before and after in those years... it was as if part of that innocence in the population was being sullied.

Something that also made a lot of differences for my 80's, was Black Friday, an economic situation that affected the economy in my country and, therefore, changed the lifestyle of many people and my family was no exception. This is already part of our history, but they were situations that marked those years in a negative way. But all in all, the 80's were years full of color, good music and a lot of good vibes, I loved them.

This is my participation in Weekend-Engagement topics: WEEK 254 . It was a pleasure to be with you, best regards!
