Play Me Some Mountain Music!~

Some recent Memories brought back old photos for me. Several years ago I had traveled out to the west coast of Canada πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ It saddens my heart because today a few of our wooded provinces are experiencing brutal wildfires... What's more, they tell us that a large portion of these fires are man-made, caused intentionally...

I wanted to share some of the beautiful scenery that is to be found in these parts of Canada!

One of Canada's biggest industries is lumber and forestry. The process of harvesting trees involves cutting them down, then sending them down river to be gathered into these huge pallets! I had never seen this feat before, so naturally I took a photo πŸ“Έ

And purple starfish! 😱 Starfish in general -- I had never seen one before! I was starstruck (no pun intended 😏). I also wasn't clueless; I know that bright colors in nature = do not touch. So, naturally, I didn't! πŸ˜‚

These tiny, itty bitty crabs! πŸ¦€πŸ˜ Again, I was in love. This was the first time I had ever encountered a crab that wasn't on a plate!

A lovely river shot. No idea where we were at the time, but I have always been in awe of how crystal clear the water is...

A sunset that was captured in a parking lot. Even the mundane was beautiful out west! πŸ˜„

There isn't a whole lot that I remember about this outing, except for the feeling that it left behind. This was a moment where I truly felt at peace...

The same can be said for this photo. Alas, I love the feeling that it evokes, seeing a long wood bridge with a huge forest waiting on the other side! The idea that anything is possible...

This location was interesting! This was actually out in Alberta, and it was an area where the 1988 Winter Olympics took place. This is where they did the skiing competition β›·οΈπŸ‘

One of my favorite pictures from traveling out west. There is something about the ominous sunset, on top of the opposing landscapes -- townhouses, forest, lake, mountains... Definitely not something that you see just anywhere!

..Who could that be? on patrol of the great outdoors?..

It's a Prairie Dog!~ 😍πŸ₯° These little guys are my absolute favorite πŸ₯Ί They are small and cute, and they make these high-pitched "Eeee!!" when calling out to each other πŸ˜‚ For the most part, they are extremely timid and will not approach people, no matter what! But in the tourist areas, they are more accustomed to people and will come out for food πŸ˜„

Another beautiful shot of the landscape -- a huge, rushing river, with quaint little houses dotting the other side...

Speaking of rushing river!! 😱 (This isn't the same river from above lol)

Just can't get enough of these mountains, man... I especially love this photo for the TINY purple πŸ’œ flower in the lower right corner.
(My husband uses a little purple watermark in the corner for his photography; it was almost like this photo prophesied his arrival πŸ˜‚)

The pristine snowy mountain resting so majestically in the background... This one was a keeper -- can you believe this was across the street from the neighborhood baseball diamond?!

I wasn't kidding!!

Anyway, that is it for today's post! Thank you so much for taking the time to read and check it out πŸ˜„ Please have a great week, everybody!
