Hello everyone, today I am ending my Eskişehir adventure. When I looked at the photos, I realised how fast the time passed. Although I visited Eskişehir about two weeks ago, it seems like yesterday. I hope it will be possible to visit again in the future. I could not visit some places due to lack of time.
Today I will tell you what I remember from Anadolu University Republic History Museum.
Let's start.
Herkese merhaba, bugün Eskişehir macerasını noktalıyorum. Fotoğraflara bakınca zamanın ne kadar hızlı geçtiğini fark ettim. Eskişehir’i yaklaşık iki hafta önce gezmeme rağmen sanki daha dün gibi. Umarım ilerleyen zamanlarda tekrardan gezmek nasip olur. Vakit sıkıntısı olduğu için bazı yerleri gezememiştim.
Bugün Anadolu Üniversitesi Cumhuriyet Tarihi Müzesinden aklımda kalanları anlatacağım.

The last stop of my sightseeing route was this museum. Entrance was free but there was nobody inside except me. Probably there was no demand due to Ramadan. One of my favourite parts of the museum is that it is divided into sections. The weapon tools and knives used in the old years were quite worn out.
Gezi rotamın son durağı bu müze olmuştu. Giriş ücretsizdi ancak içerde benden başka kimse yoktu. Muhtemelen Ramazan ayından dolayı talep yoktu. Müzenin en sevdiğim yanlarından birisi de bölüm bölüm ayrılmış olması. Eski yıllarda kullanılmış silah aletleri ve bıçaklar bayağı yıpranmıştı.
All of these artefacts used in different fields during the Republican period were recorded and these notebooks were included in the exhibition. When we look at the tools used in geometry and construction, we can say that they are still in use today.
Cumhuriyet döneminde farklı alanlarda kullanılan bu eserlerin hepsinin kaydı tutulmuş ve bu defterlerde sergide yerini almıştı. Geometri, inşaat sektöründe kullanılan aletlere bakıldığında günümüzde hâlâ kullanılmaya devam ettiğini söyleyebiliriz.
Newspapers and magazines written at that time took their place in the press section. Considering the conditions of the period and the level of education, they did a really good job. With the development of technology, the journalism sector is almost zero today. Frankly, I don't remember the last time I read a newspaper. In order to feel the historical texture and the events that took place during the republican period, I think it is necessary to examine these works from time to time.
O dönemlerde kaleme alınan gazeteler, dergiler basın bölümünde yerini almıştı. Birkaç gazeteyi göz ucuyla inceledim. Dönemin şartları ve eğitim seviyesi göz önünde bulundurulduğunda gerçekten güzel iş çıkarmışlar. Teknolojinin gelişmesiyle birlikte günümüzde gazetecilik sektörü neredeyse sıfıra inmiş durumda. Açıkçası ben en son ne zaman gazate okuduğumu hatırlamıyorum. Tarihi dokuyu ve cumhuriyet döneminde meydana gelen olayları hissetmek için bence ara ara bu eserleri incelemek lazım.
My favourite part of the museum was the education room. When the artefacts are analysed, we can unquestionably say that studies in physics, chemistry, biology and other fields were carried out at that time and shed light on the present day. It is really great to be able to see all these artefacts for free.
Müzenin içerisinde en çok beğendiğim bölüm eğitim odasıydı. Eserler incelendiğinde o dönemlerde fizik,kimya, biyoloji ve diğer alanlarda çalışmaların yapıldığını ve günümüze ışık tuttuğunu tartışmasız söyleyebiliriz. Bütün bu eserleri ücretsiz bir şekilde görebilmek gerçekten muazzam bir şey.
The section you see in this photograph is the chronology of the schools opened in Eskişehir. Schools in different branches were opened at close intervals until a certain year. Considering all these, we can see the importance given to education.
Bu fotoğrafta gördüğünüz bölüm ise Eskişehir’de açılan okulların kronolojisi. Belirli bir yıla kadar yakın aralıklarla farklı branşlarda okullar açılmış. Tüm bunlar göz önünde bulundurulduğunda eğitime verilen önemi görebiliriz.
In addition to the education, press and other sections, a separate room was prepared for the developments in the field of industry. This room was a bit smaller than the others. I remember most of these artefacts from the history of the Revolution lesson. It would probably be much more permanent if I had seen these artefacts closely with the lesson. Therefore, these museums should be shown to students in history lessons.
Eğitim, basın ve diğer bölümlerin yanında sanayi alanında yaşanan gelişmer içinde ayrı bir oda hazırlanmış. Bu oda biraz diğerlerine göre biraz daha küçüktü. İnkilap tarihi dersinden bu eserlerin çoğunu hatırlıyorum. Dersle birlikte bu eserleri yakından görmüş olsam muhtemelen çok daha kalıcı olurdu. Bu yüzden tarih derslerinde öğrencilere bu müzeler gezdirilmeli.
The room where ethnographic items from Eskişehir region were exhibited was also very interesting. Some dresses are still worn today. Therefore, we can say that today's textile factories are modelled on the republican period. Inside, mostly dresses worn by women were exhibited. Men are too much underestimated. 😄
Eskişehir yöresine ait etnografik eşyaların sergilendiği oda da oldukça ilgi çekiciydi. Bazı elbiseler günümüzde de halen giyilmeye devam ediyor. Dolayısıyla günümüzdeki tekstil fabrikalarının cumhuriyet dönemini örnek aldığını söyleyebiliriz. İçerde daha çok kadınların giydiği elbiseler sergileniyordu. Erkekler çok fazla önemsenmemiş. 😄
As in the needlework museum, ornaments and jewellery in different shapes are exhibited in this museum. If my wife @bilginsemra was on the trip, she would probably like it very much. She loves this kind of items very much.

The artefacts exhibited in the field of art are not limited to these. Glasses and plates made of ceramics, and leucus lamps, which are still used in some areas today, are also on display. In my childhood years, we used to use them when there was a power cut.
Sanat alanında sergilenen eserler bunlarla sınırlı değil. Seramikten yapılan bardaklar, tabaklar ve günümüzde bazı kesimlerde hâlâ kullanılan löküs lambalarda sergileniyor. Çocukluk yıllarımda elektrik kesintisi olduğunda bizde kullanırdık.
In addition to these, there were many artefacts that attracted attention. These are the things I remember from the museum in general. After leaving the museum, I walked to the tram stop and went to the high-speed train station. I visited many beautiful places in a short time. Thank you for accompanying me on this trip.
