Microplastics enter inside plants and affects Humans

in LeoFinance10 days ago

I have shared several articles in the past regarding the harmful nature of microplastics. Today I read an interesting article on how Microplastics are capable of entering the human body by getting inside plants. Due to the indestructible nature of microplastics, it is hard to decompose or destroy them. They get into the food we consume and create health issues. We used to think that Microplastics can enter our body only through direct means and maybe even through our food, but this interesting article showed how they can enter plant cells and enter our human body as we consume plants.

Today we are using plastics in several places. Agriculture is one place where plastics are being widely used. We have to be very careful when we are getting compost from decomposing waste. Sometimes some of the plastic wastes also get alongside regular manure, and they are given to the plants for their fast growth. This is a dangerous way to enter the food chain. There are some microorganisms available that are capable of breaking down plastics. They don't decompose plastics, but they break down regular-sized plastic to microplastics.

Consume organic food

We should know where our food is coming from. The food can come from a good source, but what if the farmers were using heavy artificial fertilizers and manure that comes from waste? There is a potential chance that the manure from waste can have microplastics. We don't know how closely they can bind with the plant cells. They might penetrate the plant body and, in turn, reach human beings when they are consumed. One thing that we can understand from this is that plastic is capable of travelling from one form to another or one host to another, but there is no one yet who can break down plastics.

It is advisable to learn where our food is coming from and it is better to choose the right food and grow our own food. This way we can be sure that we are consuming the right food that is free from plastic pollution. Doctors already say that microplastics is contributing to impotency in males because of microplastics in sperm.

i agree, only organic food can be somehow reliable, even tough it's super expensive... microplastics are really a big issue

Sir, you have written a very good post on microplastics today. I have written many posts but I have never written or read about microplastics. But today I will also try to make people aware about this.

The issues of microplastic are everywhere and it’s an expository article you have written about this. We should be able to really know where and what we eat comes from but like you said, it’s always better to grow one’s own food

Growing your own food seems like the safest way to avoid microplastics. I never thought they could get inside plants like that. Very serious thing

I saw something recently saying the amount of micro plastics in the average human brain been growing rapidly in the last few years.

it's clear that making informed choices about our food sources is more important than ever.

we have stopped using plastic in our home. we are not using plastic containers in the microwave also.

Best choice. Everyone should do that. We should reduce the usage of plastics.

These are actually what we need to pay attention because it is constantly affecting a whole lot of people daily
