Baltic Sea Beach Walk

in Outdoors and more2 months ago

Greetings, friends.
Today I propose to forget about the snow outside the window, forget about winter, and remember the warm days of May.
It was a wonderful week that I spent with my children and grandchildren on the shores of the Baltic Sea.
Svetlogorsk is a resort town in the Kaliningrad region, which we visited during our adventures. My son said that the next time he arrives in this region, he will stay in this city. Svetlogorsk charmed us. The very name of the city means "Light".

After walking through the city streets and having lunch at a restaurant located above the cliff to the sea, we went to the cable car to go down to the beach. Our daughter was our guide on the trip. She has worked out our route in advance, and I always fully trust her in this.

Landscaping works were actively carried out on the beach. Hotel houses were built along the seashore. The region continues to prepare for the increasing number of tourists. After the border closure with Europe in 2022, domestic tourism began to grow in Russia. Kaliningrad, Dagestan, and Altai have been added to the popular Black Sea coast.
May 2025 turned out to be cool, and the sea was not ready for swimming. We just wanted to see this place.

To be honest, I thought it would be boring there and didn't even want to go down to the sandy beach, but when I looked around, I saw people having fun, looked at my grandchildren and children, and realized that I was wrong. The weather was favorable for this: the sun was shining and the day was quite warm. People even walked barefoot on the water.

The son-in-law had already gone into the sea and was enjoying the moment. A couple of days ago, we were going to swim in the sea with him in the morning, but the cold wind blew all night, and my son-in-law did not go for a walk with me to the sea. My son didn't wake up either. They like to sleep for a long time.

My grandson also decided to walk on the water in sneakers. Mom turned away from the sea, and Dad was also absorbed in watching the rolling waves. I didn't stop my grandson; let him play with the water.

Granddaughter Alice, looking at Timothy, also decided to walk on the water, imagining herself to be Jesus, but she was more cunning and did not compete in speed with the incoming wave.

Dad noticed his son and decided to throw him into the sky. Oh, I remember the feeling when my father was throwing me up high like this, the feeling of weightlessness and sinking in my heart. Then I used to throw my nephews around like that, and then my children. My son started doing the same with my granddaughter, and now my son-in-law is throwing his son into the sky.

Timofey asked his uncle, that is, my son, to throw him even higher than his dad did. As a child, I taught my son to play volleyball, and now he plays even better than me and, in general, he is an athletic young man. My heart skipped a beat at the sight, as if I was flying into the sky.

It all ended with Alice asking to be lifted up, too. It's jealousy. She wanted her dad to play with her like a little girl. She didn't want to share my son with Timofey.

We had a great day.
But I would like to visit here during a storm to see how the waves roll over the beach and hit the high shore.
I hope that I will come to this place again. The son said that he wants to see the changes that will take place in 4 years. He set a deadline.

Friends, goodbye! Until the next walk.
