Hello, a very good morning to all of you. I hope you are having a very nice Easter. I am very grateful to the Amazing Nature team for the mention granted to be a member of their community. I hope to live up to this commitment, and always provide content according to their standards.
Today I wanted to take two opportunities to talk about a very special topic; first, that we are in the middle of Easter, and second, that I managed to get images according to the content. It is about the plants that bloom during the holy days.
Plants that bloom during Holy Week
Coincidentally, the most used flowers in the religious activities of these holy days are lilies, preferably white, because they adorn the altars and processions, followed by carnations, white roses and orchids. The white lily is also known as the Easter lily, because of its religious symbolism, representing purity and hope. But they are not the only flowers that shine with their colors in this season, the whole range of colors of the lilies, also carnations, roses and orchids. It is quite common to see these plants in full bloom between the months of March and April, in our area is because the season has a fusion between the dry and wet period, by the first rains that fall in these days; in other countries, because in these months is the arrival of spring.
I was able to share with you an orange lily that bloomed in my garden. Around it, it has a very leafy lemon balm plant that was able to give it some shade before pruning it. I planted it in the ground, because I did not yet have a pot to put it in as it was given to me months ago very small, and this week it delighted me with the wonderful surprise of giving me two very vivid orange flowers. I am waiting to be able to buy fertilizer and a pot to transplant it, so that it can continue growing so beautifully.
The araguaney, our natural symbol.
Another plant, but a little more lush, which also blooms beautifully during the Easter season, is the araguaney, the national tree of my country, Venezuela, known in other countries as guayacan. This natural beauty has a permanent green period during the year, and between the months of February and April, and part of the month of May, it begins to bloom, some earlier than others.
When its flowers detach from the branches, it gives us a yellow carpet that resembles a flowered field, it is simply beautiful the landscape that is drawn around it.

I am going to share with you some that have bloomed near my house, some have bloomed since last month, and others just did. The first image is from my photographic record, and this tree is located in the same block of the urbanization where I live; the second image is courtesy of my friend, Prof. Rosemary de Martinez, and the image is of a beautiful araguaney that is inside the Vista al sol School, a few blocks from my house.
The history of the Araguaney of Vista al sol, natural emblem of San José de Guanipa.
Approximately 15 years ago, the tallest and leafiest araguaney tree in the whole area was declared natural heritage and emblem of Guanipa. It is a tree located inside an abandoned house, whose family no longer lives in the country, and it was a reason for people to stop every year during this season to take pictures of it. Thanks to the technology of these times, the tree transcended to many parts of the world. It was after some time that I learned of the emblematic statement that had been made.
About 4 years ago, maybe a little more, during a storm, one of its branches collapsed during the green season, and compromised the electrical wiring underneath. The decision was made to cut off all the branches from the end that rested on that side. For natural, inexplicable reasons, from that moment on, our emblematic araguaney tree stopped blooming, and its green leaves did not even sprout. It only showed us a giant colossus of gigantic height, aged, with a dry branch, perhaps sad and with no desire to continue with life.

This weekend, beginning the Easter holiday, and the first rains of the year, our tree surprised us with a foliage of the most beautiful hope green color, completely covered, leafy, and giving us a lesson of life... as our wonderful nature is used to do.
I do not lose hope that before the end of April, it will give us again its brilliant golden flowers, and I promise you, that if that happens, I will immediately share it with everyone.
I hope you enjoyed this post, thank you very much for visiting my blog. Have a happy holy Saturday to all of you.
