Dolorosamente muchas instalaciones tanto eléctricas como de plomería estaban sin uso, pero había que comenzar por algún lado. La reparación es larga, pero puedo mudarme a ella con lo básico mientras se van reparando el resto de las cosas.

Esta semana comenzaron por la reparación de todos los tomacorrientes que estaban derretidos y algunos sin cajetines. En el bombillo hay un cortocircuito serio que va desde el interruptor hasta la brequera y por ser un trabajo más tedioso, momentáneamente me van a solucionar ese problema tomando electricidad desde un tomacorriente hasta el interruptor. La conexión de gas ya se hizo, pasando toda la instalación desde la cocina anterior a la pequeña… posteriormente si deseo reinstalar mi cocina grande para separarla de mi taller de emprendimiento, tendría que comprar todo nuevo, cocina y equipo de gas. No lo descarto.

Con respecto al lavaplatos que no se puede mover porque está empotrado con concreto y cerámica, tuve que instalar uno de pedestal que no estaba usando, mientras pienso si prefiero comprar uno con gabinete, o hago nuevamente uno de concreto. Es cuestión de comparar los presupuestos.

Espero poder estar retomando mi emprendimiento el próximo fin de semana después que los trabajadores culminen lo que quedó en pausa ayer, y así les mostraría mejor el resultado momentáneo. Por supuesto, al lugar le falta una buena mano de pintura pero eso quedaría de último porque mientras están haciendo reparaciones, es seguro que van a dañar las paredes. Hello everyone, good morning. This month I made the difficult decision to have two kitchens in my house: my personal kitchen and my business workshop. It might sound a little strange, but believe me, the reasons are compelling.

My traditional food and dessert business started in 2020, right in the middle of the pandemic. At that time, I had my small, makeshift kitchen in a room next to the living/dining room. It didn't bother me at all, but over time I moved to my mother's kitchen, which was larger and more open, and my old kitchen ended up becoming a storage room where everything that broke down just stayed broken.

As my pack of pets, now six (6), has grown and roamed everywhere, cooking for myself isn't a concern if a stray hair ends up in the food. However, cooking for sale is complicated, and the pre-business hygiene process has become an exhausting ordeal. This even limits my ability to work daily, so I only take orders occasionally and only on weekends or special days.

The need for this business, which thankfully has grown and sustained itself over the years, to be more fruitful became imperative. The only solution was to return to my old kitchen, closed off, airtight, secure, and without the obligation of a thorough, glove-like cleaning every day.

Painfully, many electrical and plumbing installations were unused, but I had to start somewhere. The repairs are lengthy, but I can move in with the essentials while the rest is being fixed.

This week they started by repairing all the electrical outlets, some of which were melted and missing their boxes. There's a serious short circuit in the light bulb, running from the switch to the circuit breaker. Since it's a more tedious job, they're temporarily solving that problem by running electricity from an outlet to the switch. The gas connection has already been made, with the entire line running from the old kitchen to the small one. Later, if I want to reinstall my large kitchen to separate it from my workshop, I'd have to buy everything new: the stove and the gas equipment. I'm not ruling it out.

Regarding the sink, which can't be moved because it's embedded in concrete and tile, I had to install a pedestal sink that I wasn't using. I'm thinking about whether to buy one with a cabinet or build another one out of concrete. It's a matter of comparing the quotes.

I hope to be able to resume my business next weekend after the workers finish what they paused yesterday, and then I'll be able to show you the current results. Of course, the place needs a good coat of paint, but that will be done last because they're bound to damage the walls while they're doing repairs. For now, I'm sharing phase 1 of this process.
