Hello, good morning everyone. This year I dedicated myself to planning how to make a cardboard house for my kittens, hoping that seeing it would make them forget about Christmas decorations, especially the tree. I'm referring to the two most recent kittens I adopted, who hadn't experienced Christmas in the house, and it was almost certain that the tree would attract their attention above all else.
Throughout the year I gave them empty boxes to play in, and they had a lot of fun, so I used some online tutorials as a guide, and from the ideas I gathered, I created my own design.

Este año me dediqué a planificar cómo hacerles una casita de cartón a mis gatitos, a ver si al verla, se olvidaban un poco de los adornos navideños, especialmente del arbolito. En este caso me refiero a los dos gatitos más recientes que adopté, que no habían interactuado con la navidad en la casa, y era casi seguro que les llamaría la atención el arbolito por sobre todas las cosas.
Durante el año les ponía cajitas vacías para que jugaran, y ellos se divertían muchísimo, así que me guie un poco por los tutoriales de la web, y de las ideas que tomé, creé mi propio diseño de construcción.

-1 large cardboard box
-An old flannel cloth
-Small toys
-Old magazines
-Yarn (You can also use twine)
-A cardboard base
-Hot glue guns
-Scissors
-Some plastic strips
-A large ruler broken in half
-A small rug
-An old cushion
Purchased:
-Hot glue sticks
-Tape
-Liquid silicone

-1 caja grande de cartón
-Una franela vieja
-Juguetes pequeños
-Revistas viejas
-Hilo de estambre (También se puede usar pabilo)
-Una base de cartón piedra
-Pistolas de silicón
-Tijeras
-Unas tiras de plástico
-Una regla grande partida
-Una alfombra pequeña
-Un cojín viejo

-Barra de silicón
-Teipe
-Silicón líquido
Procedure:
-I measured the box to cut it in half and build a two-story house.
-I used the lid of the box as the roof of the lower floor.
-I attached the plastic ruler and the plastic strips in a crisscross pattern to the lower box to support the roof.
-I secured everything with tape and hot glue.
-Then I glued on the cardboard roof.
-I cut doors in both boxes.
Procedimiento:
-Tomé las medidas de la caja para cortarla por la mitad y así construir una casa de dos pisos.
-La tapa de la caja la usé como techo del piso inferior.
-Le coloqué la regla de plástico y las tiras de plástico en forma cruzada a la caja inferior para darle soporte al techo.
-Fijé todo con teipe y silicón caliente
-Luego le pegué el techo de cartón.
-Les abrí puertas a ambas cajas.
-I lined the bottom part with flannel, leaving the neck opening at the front.
-I lined the top part with magazine pages.
-Then I attached the two boxes together, and then secured them to the cardboard base.
-Forré la parte inferior con la franela dejando la abertura del cuello hacia adelante.
-La parte de arriba la forré con hojas de revistas.
-Luego fijé las dos cajas, y juntas las fijé en la base de cartón piedra.
-I attached string to the small toys and some Christmas bells and glued them to the edge of the box.
-I glued other toys to the top of the box.
-And finally, I added the cushion and the rug.
-Les puse hilos a los juguetes pequeños y algunas campanitas navideñas y los fijé a la orilla de la caja.
-Otros juguetes los pegué en la caja superior.
-Y por último le puse el cojín y la alfombra.
The result was fun and exciting because I let them see it after the Christmas tree was already up, and they didn't know where to go first. Although they haven't stopped visiting the tree, their little house has been so appealing that they keep playing and sleeping in it. I hope it lasts a long time.

El resultado fue divertido y emocionante porque los dejé verla cuando ya estaba colocado el árbol de navidad, y no sabían para dónde dirigirse primero. Aunque no han dejado de visitar el árbol, la atracción de su casita ha sido tanta, que no dejan de jugar y dormir en ella. Espero que les dure bastante.
