Splinterlands Social Media Challenge: Uriel is great in Earthquake Rulesets

in Splinterlands2 days ago

Splinterlands is a pretty complicated game with interesting battles with all the options available. This is a part of the weekly social media challenge for Splinterlands. This week is about a great fight where I won by using Uriel as my tank.

Featured cards

Uriel is a light splinter that costs 4 mana. It starts off with flying and recharge ability. It learns heal at level 2, and redemption at level 4. I have this card at level 2 so it has the heal ability and I think it's a great tank with that ability.

Rule set, Battle and Plan

The ruleset this time is Broken Arrows and Earthquake. This means that no ranged monsters can be used and any monsters without flying will take damage every turn. There are 45 mana available and I am left with the choice of earth or life splinter.

Grandmaster Rathe gives +1 armor, void armor, and amplify. Uriel is my tank and the heal will help keep its health high. After that is a flying monster with reach. My third monster is another flying monster but with magic reflect followed by a opportunity monster. My 5th monster is my support monster with flying, repair and resurrect. My last monster is Dumacke Orc with shield and retaliate for any sneak or opportunity monsters.

Round 1

round 1.png
At first glance, I think that I have the advantage. My team has a lot of flying monsters and my repair plus heal will keep my Uriel alive. My opponent can't hit any monster outside of Uriel and Quora can't stack any bloodlust without killing it.

Round 3

round 3.png
Two rounds later, I have killed two monsters and I haven't taken too much damage. My opponent has slowly taken damage so I think this match is my win. I will be able to take out a few more monsters before my opponent has any chance of killing off Uriel.

I ended up winning the match a few turns later, but it was later than I expected because I missed quite a few attacks against that Regal.

Conclusion

The battle this time around went exactly like I expected. My choice to use Uriel and Rathe together was a good choice. Combining that with Adelade for the repair was a good choice as it limited my damage. This let me survive longer than my opponent and wipe him out without too many issues. The combination of these abilities were great and it led to an easy victory. It's too bad that my last monster didn't do any work but I left that in for the case where certain abilities appear.

You can see my entire match here.

At level 2 it's really boosted, the heal is excellent... Level 1 without heal, not really a great card

Yea. That heal ability makes me way more tanky and amazing as a tank
