It is not new that some people may be the offender while innocent people get to suffer for it. Like, when we hear about such things, we may feel pity for the victims but it doesn't sound strange to hearing anymore and this is how far the whole system has override our act of speaking up against it.
In a country where decisions are made by the leaders, and for every decision there must be a consequence springing forth but unfortunately, citizens are directly or indirectly suffering for it.
No matter how much we want to rebuke this act, it makes me remember whenever I read the part where God's judgement for David's bad act in the Bible get to affect the Israelites and not David himself who is the culprit, and it makes me wonder that this act has always been in existence right from ages past. So can this really be eradicated and not happening anymore?
Let me use my country as a case study for this prompt. There have been so many bad decisions made by the leaders of my country right from negotiating with terrorists to get back the abducted citizens instead of enforcing and mobilizing our forces and make strategies on how to retrieve back the citizens but they would always choose an unsustainable path to make their decisions.
Along the line, these same terrorists gets to come back in double folds abducting again since it's still gonna lead to a negotiation and not withdrawing back from their acts and the harmless citizens will always be the ones getting kidnapped or killed, not the leaders.
When it turned out that an external force developed interest in stopping the killings and abductions, pressure began to mount on everyone and different opinions started popping up as to who exactly will get affected if the invasion actually happens of which we all know that before any invasion would affect the leaders, so many citizens would have been affected.
It is not fair that citizens, either ordinary or celebrities get to face backlash, critics or discrimination because of the leaders' actions and act but this is the era we found ourselves. The whole citizens are seen as dubious because we are from a country where the leaders are dubious and corrupted. We are treated badly going to other countries based on what I read since I've not stepped out of my country before.
Even though we may not have the power to stop our rulers or leaders from executing their bad act, we should try to exhibit the act of speaking up cos that is when we are actually been democratic. In one way or the other, they still get to see that their citizens are not well aligned with their decisions even if that's not a certainty that they will change their bad decisions.
In conclusion and summary, hopefully there will be a decrease in the bad decisions of our leaders but as long as they still make their bad decisions, the citizens get to suffer for it no matter how unfair it may be or sound. It is inevitable.
