Trying to Predict the Unpredictable

Seems like Bitcoin is on a little but of a rally here. Up to 105k! Woohoo! We're in the money, right? (Well, we were up to 105 when I woke up. Seems like the bears are trying to pull it down as I edit this before posting. Down to 104 now)

If you do a search, almost all the top results are claiming this rally is being caused by excitement at Trump taking office soon and expectations that he is going to keep his promises and be very good to crypto.

Has he ever actually kept a promise in his political life? I suppose this could be the first time. Then again, he's in office, and he doesn't have to worry about being popular anymore, so all bets are off. He'll do whatever the hell he wants to. But on the other side of that argument, he has surrounded himself with pro-crypto people, so I think there is some hope that even if he stops caring about crypto once in office, the people around him my continue to influence things in a pro-crypto direction.

Well, what will be will be. It is kind of funny that pretty much every news story right now is claiming the exact same thing.

I suppose one thing we can say is if these copycat news stories are right, this could be a buy the rumor sell the news situation. So just bear that in mind as we get closer to the 20th: we could be looking at a big drop slightly before, on, or after the 20th.

Looking at the other coin we all care about, it seems like HIVE isn't getting too much out of this, at least not yet. We are still moving sideways, bouncing around from a bit under .5 to a bit above it.

If you all missed it, there was a news story a day or two ago that Upbit may be in trouble from Korean regulators. That could be bad news for us. Upbit is the exchange that's been responsible for the majority of our pumps and dumps. But then again, it could be good. Maybe we will start to see more steady growth without the subsequent dumps now. We shall see, eh?

Anyway, I will keep believing in HIVE. I hope you will too. Maybe if BTC does drop after the 20th, some of that money might flow to HIVE. Cross your fingers!

🤞

Hey, I'm in a great mood though. Not because of this BTC rally, though, but because of baseball.

Roki Sasaki, one of the best pitchers we have seen in a very long time, has just announced that he will sign with the Dodgers. (He announced it on Instagram of all places, but IG is huge in Japan, so it kind of makes sense) Great news! The Dodgers will now have three of the biggest and best Japanese stars in the game: Ohtani, Yamamoto, and now Sasaki. Some of the news stories are already jokingly calling them the LA Samurais, seeing as how they have positioned themselves to be Japan's team in MLB. Exciting news!

It's definitely nice to see the prices up. We will see if they hold through the weekend. I can get behind the Dodgers getting all this talent. I'll always be a Tigers fan, but the minor league team in my home town just a couple minutes away is an affiliate of the Dodgers.

Bitcoin will keep rising, unless some new hurdle in adoption occurs or the regulators decide to reign in, it's pretty much now a high stake affair. Wht truly concerns me is over centralization of services instead of being decentralized, this needs to change don't you think?
