The first time I heard the word web3, was from my cousin years back , she was sharing about her writing experience on Twitter and It was about creating content for marketing and advertising, I was so interested, because I learnt a skill in copywriting,
The way she explained Web3 made me thought it was a difficult task, but I was willing to learn, because it was about writing too.
She said she was earning in dollars and promised she was going to put me through, I was so interested in learning about it .
I asked her to create an account for me, then I already had a twitter account, she said I have to join some meetings , after joining few meetings via Google meet and I tried engaging in the meeting, persuaded her to create an account for me, I lost interest, because I felt I wasn't attended to, I'm not so good at forcing things.
Some years later a friend of mine, introduced me to blurt and it was very similar to everything she was telling me then, he enlightened me and told me that blurt was a web3 platform.
The first web3 platform I engaged in was blurt, but I left the platform a long time ago, due to it low value.
Then fast forward to when everyone was talking about Pi mining , I joined, we kept mining, referring people, I and my siblings had so much hope in Pi ,we kept seeing it as the upcoming Bitcoin, we kept mining pi with so much optimism.
Considering that Pi didn't turn out so well, I lost interest in every other mining, although my younger brother never did.I really didn't participate in airdrops.
Then finally I got scammed due to my lack of knowledge about cryptocurrency, I attended a seminar about cryptocurrency mentorship and we were told as students, that we can group ourselves to contribute and raise money to purchase Bitcoin together and when the price rises , we can decide to take our various shares equally, we got really excited and also saw it as an opportunity to Invest.
We contributed 50k each, sent to the organizers, who added us to a group and gave up updates on Bitcoin price daily, then finally the admin wasn't reachable again, in months we couldn't contact any of the organizer, it was really a painful experience and it affected my enthusiasm on cryptocurrency in a way, but I became more careful.
Fast forward to this year, a friend of mine started telling me about hive, that I should consider writing on hive and focus on hive, that hive was more had a good value.
He told me about the various communities on hive and how I can grow and learn from hive .
My experience here on hive have been really interesting, educative and enjoyable.
I'm new to hive blockchain and I can boldly say it's my favorite.
I enjoy the diversity in hive, the various communities, and the fact that if you have a nitch, you can easily find a community to grow in, for example the vibes web3 music competition, scifi-multiverse, daily blog and many more.
And lastly, the discord channels, making communication , connections and engagement easy among members of this communities.
To grow in Web3 platforms like hive blockchain you have to be active, consistent, engage meaningfully and create meaningful content in communities of your interest.
Thanks for reading ♥️.
