In Japan koi are symbols of love and friendship, they also sybolize luck, prosperity, good fortune, and perseverance in the face of adversity.

I had no idea they could live that long either.
I guess it all depends on how well they are cared
for and what their water condition is.
Yeah, the water condition is probably very important as well.. I remember that my uncle had a pond in the garden and he was super proud of how big these koi fish got.. He said they were very expensive so he had to cover the garden with a net so the birds wouldn't come to grab them, lol.
