I made some impulse buys after getting a new scanner and picked up several batches of slides a while back from Goodwill and eBay. These pictures span from as early as the late 1940s to as late as the early 1990s. There are many thousands of these slides. I will be scanning some from time to time and posting them here mainly because I find them an interesting way to look back at the past.
I don't know a whole lot about the ultimate origins of this batch of slides other than they came from Goodwill. Like previous batches, these too often have a date stamped on them that I assume indicates when the film was developed and I believe in most cases should give approximate dating for the photograph itself. So far these seem like mostly vacation photos that were taken in the 1960s and 1970s. I've identified places in Italy, France, Mexico, and Hawaii so far.
All of the photos in this set were processed in July 1975. Based on that date and other photos with that date, I believe that all of these were taken in Hawaii.
The first photo appears to be taken from an upper floor of some building looking out towards the city and mountains behind. I wasn't able to immediately identify exactly where this was taken from just this photo.
The second photo appears to have been taken from the same place looking in the same direction but from ground level. I think, after searching based on this photo and the previous photo that the torch farther away from the photographer is the "Eternal Flame" in Honolulu that burns in remembrance of the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor. The statue closer to the photographer is the Father Damien Statue. That means these two photos were taken from the Hawaii State Capitol building.
In the third photo you can see the Hawaii state flag so i believe this was also taken from the Capitol, just from a slightly different angle.
I'm not sure about the last photo. It shows what I am guessing is a traditional Hawaiian house or other building.
