@ablaze has been doing 3 tune Tuesday for quite a while and we love the idea of it and some of the posts @stickupmusic has been doing it but I though I would join in too. it is a great way to listen to new music which is always something we want to do!
Our picks
This week we are all about the funk, we have been playing a lot of funk recently and just love it! This week we are listening to "Parliament" the american funk band headed by the legendary George Clinton!
Now this is such a great band but I feel they sometimes get overlooked by Sly and the Family. If you want to know more then check out wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parliament_(band) They have an interesting history and started much earlier than I original thought!

Ok if this does not get you going then I think you might be dead and you need to see a Dr. This is maybe one of the funkiest songs ever to have existed. it even has funk it the title it is that funky. I mean what does it not have? Funky rhythm, bass, horns and brilliantly free vocals?
Song 2
Flashlight is a much more understated funky tune. What a bass line it has. It is worth listening to just for that bass! However it also has some really interesting counter melodies in the backing vocals. It still remains that free feeling of sound with people chatting and jamming over it while the bass and drums remain solid while they groove over the top! It also has some crazy synth thing son it, not sure where they are from!

P Funk is a classic song! It has a kind of smooth grove. It has some very sweet wah guitars on this one then everything else you would expect from one of the funkiest bands on the planet. Being over 7 mins long you get some "cool" chat as well that sounds like something we should definitely sample for a track! The backing vocals are on point on this track, no auto tracking or autotune like we have now, just brilliant singing!
