Certainly analog (and mechanical) typewriters are antiques.
I am a native of the last millennium, so every time I think about a writer or writing a text, the image of a typewriter comes to mind. I suppose that if I were born in the 90s, my mental image would be a computer keyboard, and if I were from the generation that was born in this millennium, my idea may be of a cell phone touch screen.
There are things that change over time, that also applies to the mental images that we associate with certain ideas.
