Introduction
Welcome to our Community Highlight section where we shine a light on all the good work happening in the hive ecosystem. From game communities, to gender communities, to even projects with just a shared goal in mind. We are planning to cover all of them.
The aim of this idea is to use our audience (which is fairly large for hive (Hi mom!)) to show the community and beyond all the good work other communities are doing across hive. These aren't necessarily projects, these could just be communities with a shared goal or vision for the betterment of their users.
I'm looking to showcase the best and brightest here. Looking to give a wider audience to those that are working hard every day to achieve something better. And who might not necessarily have the same audience reach as what we do. Sometimes we'll host communities with bigger audiences though! And that's cool too.

Neoxian City
I had the fortune to speak with @neoxian the other day and I asked him if he would fill in some questions about his community and what's going on there.
Here's what we found out. Answers are very interesting!
1. Hive is relatively small, and I feel that most people know each other here. Since you own a community then I'm sure 99.99% of people on here have heard of you. So, tell us something that we don't know. Something new about yourself.
Hmm, alright, this is something I haven’t told anyone in the crypto space, but I do like to spend time in Second Life. The virtual world created by Linden Labs. I’ve always been fascinated by the idea of virtual worlds. Also I like 3d voxel games like Minecraft and now Minetest and Vintage Story, but people know that.
2. Tell us what your community is and what is its goals
My community is called Neoxian City and it’s sort of a virtual place to hang out online. The goal is to become a true city, but right now, it’s more of a pub where I’m serving up three delicious drinks (votes) per day.
3. What first inspired you to come to hive?
When I discovered Bitcoin I became fascinated with crypto currency and more importantly, decentralization in general. I’m always seeking more free, more decentralized versions of things that I use already.
I enjoyed using Reddit, so when I found “Steemit” which was sort of a decentralized Reddit (kind of), I couldn’t resist joining, and then soon got sucked in by it all. Long story short, here I am in Hive now.
4. Is there anything unique about hive other than its decentralization and free transfers that you enjoy?
There is something about Hive that draws you in, pulls people together in a way that I haven’t seen with any other crypto. Even Bitcoin or Ethereum, which I have made much more money on, haven’t sucked me in the same way Hive did.
5. Is there anything about your community that sets you apart from the rest?
People say often comment on how active and chatty my city is, so I’ll go with that. Due to the unique way I run the city, I try to keep it active and there is usually something going on.
6. You're walking along and you stumble across a golden lamp. Hearing the urban legends of old in your childhood, you rub it, poof, out pops a magic genie and grants you one wish. The only stipulation is the wish can't be for you and any of your immediate family or friends. What do you wish for?
I would wish for cryptocurrenty to succeed, gain mainstream adoption and displace the corrupt fiat currencies like the USD and others. Having a more fair, logical and decentralized currency would solve so many evils of the world and current system.
7. Name something that makes you proud of what your community has achieved together
I’m proud of our city paper. It’s the one thing that we do consistantly that improves Hive. Providing good curation, the paper always receives praise.
8. What do you most dislike about hive?
I don’t like the politics, and I feel like Hive has been a bit stuck lately. Little has changed in it’s core operation, and it’s been a while since the last fork.
9. Ending on a positive note. Where do you see your community in 5 years?
Well, hopefully we are still doing our thing. Having fun in Discord, and running a forum. To be honest, it may not be that much different then it is now, but perhaps we can gain a virtual city someday, a 3d world that people can explore, have fun and do business in.
