The political discourse is sooooo plagued with hypocrisy, and the hypocrisy of the good guys is often much more disturbing than that of the bad guys whom one expects to behave like this. If ethics were not simply a cover for one's self-interest, one could easily see how one could reach compromises with the enemy. But if morality has become a kind of blind faith that makes a compromise with the other side impossible because they are simply in the way or evil then war is practically guaranteed.
I see the problem when they start moralising in a bad way. Like we all know it's about self interest but they try to hide it, OH WELL GERMANY HELPED RUSSIA AND THEY ARE FASCIST. And then you see every other nation, copying the exact same pattern.
If people were talking about morality in a way that acknowledges a couple of concepts like well being and how that well being dictates your goals then things become much better. Those are tangible things rather than, muh human rights that gets invoked every two seconds and gets forgotten when the alleged good guys forget about it.
The US is a unipolar empire that at some point it will fall..
The problem is we always seek to universilize our life-style, ethical principles, our morals, our modus operandi.... and in the West we always tend to suffer the consequences of our own socio-political conservative hypocrisy...
That's why we must acquire a more extensive comprehension of the evolutionary trends/momentum and cultural inertia inherent in nations and societies with distinct civilizational patterns.
Prior to conducting on any assessments and attempting to prescribe how they should manage their communities/societies in a manner that is aattainable for themselves.
