📝 What are your travel habits like? Delve into the specifics: How much do you pack? Do you prefer long-distance journeys or short ones? Share your preferences and experiences in detail.

When I saw this prompt, I was laughing so hard because my travel habit is just 20%. I don't like traveling at all.

Do you prefer long journeys or short ones?

I prefer short journeys over long journeys because I have a phobia of traveling. Anytime, there is travel ahead of me, my heart skips every minute until the journey is over. What about negative thoughts? They won't leave me till I switch to another thoughtful reflection.

During my younger days, I found it hard to leave my Father to travel anywhere. We were always gummed together like bubble gum till he died.
So, let me just say that I don't like traveling. It was like that until I gained admission to go study far away from my home, not too far away but the homey in me considered that too far🤣 I usually come back home every weekend and everyone around would be like, why are you back home again? Can't you stay in school for a whole semester before coming home? I can't stay outta my home🤣🤣

Then, the time to serve my father Land came and I was posted to Bauchi State, one of the Northern states in Nigeria. Jesus! Why me? I started crying at the thought of it being far from Ogun State. After hearing it's an 18-hour journey and I have to pass through land transportation, I began to cry more🥲 Why? I hate long journeys 👌

The day I was to leave for Bauchi State was so emotional for me and my mom because both of us were crying at the park. I continued crying till I landed in Bauchi. The thought of leaving my home for another land was eating my body, I refused to stop crying until I summoned the courage to move on🤣

Do I still travel now? Not like that🤣🤣

How much do I pack if I'm traveling?

I packed things needed in detail 👌I hate to be stranded and to be a burden on someone.

Mom was the originator of this travel pack, I learned it from her 👍This made me remember what she packed during my traveling for NYSC.

Inside my travel bag was everything I needed. My mom packed a lot of things for me as if she had known I wouldn't be eating their meal (story for another day). In my bag was towel, wrappers, sweaters, slippers, clothes, and shoes to wear, garri (cassava flakes), sugar, dried fish, tea, milk, biscuits, toiletries, sanitary pads, and others to keep me alive, and all these were so helpful. Thanks to my super mother👏

But now👇👇👇

Money, mobile phones, charger, and my power bank are the first things I consider packing. I hate to be stranded wherever I find myself. My money is scattered on me, some in my wallet, some in the traveling bag, some on me in case anything like robbery happens.

Another thing are my clothes, whether the journey is for a day or more, I don't like being stranded. My wrapper is also important because I cannot sleep without something covering my body. My towel is also important to pack.

There was a time when my sister had a function and we all needed to be there. So, I packed my necessary things in a small bag, this small bag contains three clothes that I would wear for three days, slippers, a wrapper(this is important because I can't sleep without covering my body), a towel( I can't borrow towel o), my makeup, sanitary pads(monthly flow can come at any time) and some other necessary things. Despite the fact it was my sister's house, I still had to pack all I needed at that time.

Another thing I consider is a medicine like paracetamol, flagyl, septrim, vitamin C, and others. Anything can happen along the journey, instead of running helter-skelter, my first aid is the solution👌

After I became a mother, I continued with my usual way of packing things. I will pack my children's needs to the cereals they will eat and also pack my things too. We don't want to be a liability to anyone😋
