I haven't got a washer or dryer in my domes yet. I'm also pretty uncertain about my water catchment set up- will it be enough? Can I catch and store enough rain? I'm confident I can for the basics, dishes, showers, toilet flushes, and drinking (though I don't have my full filtration system set up yet so we aren't drinking it yet). However, my tank isn't full yet and I opted to wait to see how I fare before buying an expensive appliance that will consume my precious water and electriciry.
So I find myself in a laundromat for the first time in years...
Gotta be clean... especially with all the dirty work of building and long days at the office. I had forgotten what a luxury it is be able to do this at home, to not spend fifteen dollars in quarters and haul my soiled unmentionables across town. To not make small talk with random strangers and fight over the best machines.
I've never been to this laundromat before, it is unknown ground.
It stood empty when I arrived and I was met with the unmistakable combo of laundromat scents: lavender, bleach, the subtle tang of detergent, an undercurrent of the insidious despair of lonely socks.
Is it normal for fully half of the machines to be out of order?
I hope I picked the right machines...
I hope I picked the right Laundromat...
On the bright side... there is free water... with every wash!
HOORAY!
