Louis turned the room upside down. Who would have done this to her? She had already exhausted her voice, yelling if someone could hear her as she banged on the door, but still, no one came to her rescue.

There was a big iron box there. She observed the room, and that wasn't there before. Who put it there? Was this some kind of game or something, and why her? The box had a big lock, more reason for her to think whoever perpetrated this unpleasant game probably put the key in there.

She looked around for something she could use to break it open. She sighted a big iron rod under the bed. "Finally," she reached under the bed and grabbed the rod.

She weighed it, as if she could tell if it was going to be able to do the job by doing that. "I guess this would do." She proceeded to hit the padlock with the rod. After a few minutes of sweating and hitting helplessly without giving the padlock a single dent, she gave up.

"Damned lock, I guess my woman strength wasn't enough for you," she said as she dropped the rod on the ground and let herself fall on the bed like a palm tree. "Well, I guess I just have to wait for someone to notice I am missing from breakfast."

She was already falling asleep when there was a knock on the door. She sprang up and ran to the door.

"Who is there? Don't go, please, I am locked in," she said as she banged on the door. "Oh, very sorry, miss," she recognized the voice; it was Jerry, a member of the ship's crew. He was in charge and took care of the section she stayed on the cruise.

He unlocked the door, and Louis finally came out. "Oh my God, I am very sorry. I think I misplaced my keys," Louis said.

Then after having the moment of freedom, she realized just one thing. "Wait a minute, I thought only the owner of the room had the keys to the room. So how come you have a key?"

"There were changes made on your lock yesterday night," he said as he handed her the bunch of new keys.

She took the keys with her suspicious gaze steadily fixed on Jerry. "And why wasn't I notified about the change?"

"Well, you were asleep, and I didn't want to disturb you," he answered. "Oh, okay," she said, slightly ashamed of sleeping so deeply.

She checked the time, and it wasn't far gone from the dining time. So she hurried to the dining. She reached the dining; there were a lot of people there. She was probably the last one to get there. She looked around, looking for the only person and friend she knew on the cruise, Lily. Finally, she saw her and went over to the table she was seated.

"Hey," she called Lily, whose attention was all over a young handsome man sitting on the opposite table. Lily was startled and turned around to see who it was. "Oh my God, Louis, where have you been?"

"I was stuck, long story. But why have the dishes not been served?" a hungry Louis asked. "I thought you were lost too. I tried telling them I couldn't find you, and your room was locked. When I knocked, no one answered, and just this morning two other guys went missing and still can't be found by now. I saw Jerry, and..." Lily continued.

"What the hell is going on?" Louis's mind zoned out. She just realized she had no idea what happened last night; it was all a blank space.

Watch out for episode 2.

This was an interesting start to a serial fiction! On the surface it seems like little out of the ordinary but then...two people are missing... and her memory is blank... I wonder where this is going?? I saw this episode 1 on Voilk too. Who is @simpson1?
