Today morning when I woke up and opened my window, I see these special guests in front of me. The back side of my building is a small hill and from there it connects to a mini forest area. On an off there are these peacocks and peahens that I sight in this area. Most of them are peahens, there are very few peacocks in the area.
During the monsoon quite a few peacocks come out and it's a delight to watch them dancing.
I am always in love with this bird because of their color, the blue and green combination is beautiful and when they spread out their wings they look magnificent, the natural artistic design on their feathers is pretty.
There was only one in the beginning and then the second one also came.
I gave them some rotis and they came almost till my window
Peacock feathers are used in a lot of religious ceremonies in India. There is a folklore around peacock feathers in Hindu mythology. Lord Krishna was very fond of playing flute. It is said that once Lord Krishna was playing his flute in the forest, and with the sound of the flute music the peacocks were very happy, in gratitude they offered their feather to him and asked him to put it in his turban on the head forever and since then Lord Krishna always had a peacock feather in his head turban. It's also said that since then he was declared as the ruler of the entire universe. A Peacock's feather is a symbol of elegance, beauty, power and divinity.
Throughout the morning they were around, but then I had to get back to my work, after feeding them and spending some time with them then I bid them good bye. Such a beautiful way to start my day.
