Greetings to you friends from wherever you are reading me from. I appreciate your support, always.
Today was one of those days where I got to be helpful, productive, and even treated myself to something special. It started with a call from my elder sister, asking for my help with some errands. She needed me to help pick a fabric from a certain location, and also buy a box for her son's school supplies. I happily obliged and planned on doing so during break time.
Fortunately my schedule was fairly open, and I was able to clear my desk before break, giving me ample time for the tasks ahead.
First, I went to Market Road to pick up the fabric and then proceeded to School Road Market to tackle the main task - finding the box.
The School Road Market is a great place to find stuffs. From designer handbags to school bags, travel bags, boxes, wears, belts, fabrics, accessories, and more, this market has it all. All these stuffs come in either brand new or fairly used - "OK, short for Okirika", like we call it here.

I was on a mission to find the perfect box for my nephew, Chima, fondly called "Sweet". To achieve this, I visited several shops, capturing sample photos of boxes and their prices, and then forwarding them to my sister via WhatsApp so she can make a choice.

Big size: ₦100,000 - $64.29
At some point, we even resort to a WhatsApp video call so she could get a better look at the boxes. After several chats, price comparisons, and quality checks, she told me to make a choice that's within ₦30,000 - ₦35,000 budget ($19.29 -$22.50." She equally expressed shock at the soaring prices of boxes. Well, that's expected since it's the back-to-school season, when demand is always high. Moreover, the exchange rate isn't going down, it's still high.
With her budget in mind, I searched a little further and eventually found this medium sized beautiful purple-colored Stock box for ₦30,000 ($19.29)
What a gem! The quality surpassed the previous ones I'd seen, and the price was surprisingly lower. I was thrilled to have found it!
Moreover, the seller was extremely friendly and accommodating, providing a detailed explanation of the box's features. She gave me her phone number, and even offered a warranty, assuring me that if my sister didn't like it, we could return it and exchange it for another one. This is an impressive display of customer-centric service, and I'm already sold on her 😅.
Feeling triumphant about snagging the box at a great deal, I decided to reward myself. I treated myself to this Stock Louis Vuitton handbag: ₦2,000 ($1.29). Another great deal.
But that's not all - I also picked up these adorable tote bags for my two nieces. They'll be ecstatic when they receive their surprise gifts.
₦1,500 - $0.96 each
Mission accomplished! With the box and other goodies in hand, I returned to the office feeling elated, and grateful for the opportunity to assist my sister and spoil my nieces, and myself! a little bit. 😅
What's more, the trip to the market also provided an unexpected bonus: exercise. Walking from one shop to another, searching for the perfect box, was a great way to stay physically active.
