The supermarket delivery serbice here in The Netherlands sucks. You pay for delivery, which I understand. But they seem to send the worst vegetables and fruit. Constantly delivers expensive replacements with the excuse there was no stock of the other product (I am talkibg about an average of 50% of the order) and last week it got even worse. In the app we figured out we had tp pick up our order. Why? Because they were too busy and could not deliver that day. Some people need a delivery service, because they can not get out of the house anymore. But the service is inconvinient. Indeed a lot of phonecalls to fix stuff.
I have 0 experience with customer service in terms of delivery from Holland. I remember that the supermarkets had great customer service (so I discovered during rough times), bad items? return and get your money back or a free new item plus money back sometimes even. But I guess it has declined everywhere.. I just don't have these experiences in my home country (Holland) as I never used it there in the past.
The things you mention I have experience with in Budapest as well as here in Spain (as I mentioned above) with the difference that if they deliver something more expensive that's free of charge mostly, but what they often do is delivering a discounted product without giving back money, so one at the date or close to.
Just not with me, I don't take that crap and I will complain and get my money back lol. I think it's quite Dutch to stand up for your rights, so I will, lol.
Are you Dutch or just living there if I may ask?
Have a good weekend!
Dutch and traveling around in Europe. Currently visiting family in the Netherlands and experience their supermarket online frustrations.
