RE: Could the Mark of the Beast be Our Phones? 📱

in Rant, Complain, Talk3 months ago

There is for sure a lot to be said about this stuff. I think phones are both an indispensable device for modern access to the worlds information, as well as one of the most insidious inventions foisted upon us.

Phones have most definitely done a LOT of good in the world. Being able to call someone for help in an emergency if you've fallen on a trail in the woods. Not everyone would bring CB radios in the past, and sadly a lot of people died from exposure or something else. In that regard, I think phones have saved a lot of people.

It has also assisted a lot of people in their suicidal attempts and ideations.

Where I think I'm going with it is to say that it is Yin and Yang. We cannot have the good without the bad and we cannot have the bad without the good. They are forces that balance each other out in the end!

Oh, of course, cellular phones have been extremely beneficial. I would not go anywhere without bringing my phone in the event of an emergency.

But therein lies the difference: I wouldn't bring my phone to BE ON IT 🚫 I can't speak on why they do it, only that every parent is on their phone while their kids and two adults (us 😂) are playing WITH our children.

Despite how beneficial, it constantly takes us away from the present. And, unfortunately, not many people possess self-control enough to stop -- myself included!

Yeah dude I’m with you there! If I’m out with my kid, unless I’m looking up food or directions, I am playing or doing whatever we are with him, not just being a shitty spectator.

I thankfully have seen a lot of parents being present and active with their kids, much more this last year or two so I’m hoping we have a directional shift!
