Fairhaven MA Town Hall

Fairhaven MA Town Hall

Good Morning and have a great day
Today I will share some shots of the Fairhaven Town Hall, I have to check myself when I mention it as with the Town Hall being so grand and surrounded by other cool old buildings I always think of it as a city not a town

Starting with a shot of the whole building isnt so grand and stylish, they sure had style back then

It is located at 40 Center Street, between Walnut and William Streets, across Center Street from the Millicent Library Which I have shared shots of previously,
The brick and stone High Victorian Gothic hall was designed by Charles Brigham and built in 1892.
It was given to the town by Henry Huttleston Rogers,If you remember i did mention in the post about the library that he had donated that to the town as well and he also made other significant contributions to the town. The building's granite trim elements were quarried in St. George, New Brunswick and Red Beach, Maine.

The town hall was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981 and has had a preservation restriction on it since 1998.

Now for some closer in shots showing some of the cool detail, everywhere you look there is cool details

Wow, that is an amazing town hall! It reminds me a lot of another building in the town where I lived for a short time. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_Hall_(Bay_City,_Michigan)

I definitely need to spend more time in the northeast.

Beautiful Shots

That's a beautiful Victorian style building. At first I almost thought it looked like and old church but it was just the style used in construction. What a nice town hall, great pictures!
