My wife loves painting pictures of trilliums. I use them as a hint to search for woodear. Once they start blooming I check all the dead trees and usually find decent amounts of woodear.

Its really fun to begin understanding the rhythms of nature. When plants bloom, when mushrooms come out, when different trees leaf out... Connection to nature is powerful and I think healing.
