Shelter for Farmers

in Photography Lovers5 days ago

On a bright afternoon, two trees stand side by side in the middle of a vast expanse of rice fields. One tree looks old and tall, with branches that are starting to shed, while the other tree is shadier, greener, and full of leaves. Underneath, there is a small mound of soil, as if it was deliberately raised so that it would not be flooded when the rainy season arrives.

Places like this are usually the favorite locations for farmers to rest. After hoeing or planting rice since morning, they will sit in the shade under the trees, relaxing while enjoying the gentle breeze. Sometimes they bring simple provisions, rice, chili sauce, and salted fish which are enjoyed together while having light conversation.

The mound of soil is like a "chair of nature", a place where stories of the past are passed down from one generation to the next. That is where the laughter and silence of farmers come together, under two trees that bear silent witness to their lives and hard work in the midst of quiet nature.
