Foto di atas saya ambil mungkin ada dua tahun yang lalu, lokasinya berada di pinggiran kota Surabaya bagian timur. Tujuan dari mengambil foto ini adalah ingin mengambil aura sunset yang ada di jalan itu, tapi sayang hasil foto tidak sesuai dengan harapan.
Saat ini saya sedang belajar menggunakan GIMP untuk melakukan editing foto, dan itu perlu ketelatenan serta kesabaran karena software ini sungguh tidak user friendly tapi walaupun begitu saya berusaha belajar untuk menguasainya setidaknya dengan target enam puluh sampai delapan puluh persen fitur saya pernah gunakan.
Kembali lagi pada foto tersebut di atas, foto tersebut saya edit untuk menjadi lebih jelas dan hasilnya seperti pada foto-foto di bawah postingan ini. Ada dua hasil editing, yang pertama saya menggunakan fitur layer mode soft light dan shadow and highlight yang moderat yang hasilnya cukup memuaskan bagi saya karena bisa melihat obyek lainnya, sedangkan pada foto kedua saya menggunakan fitur yang sama tapi menggunakan rate highlight-nya yang agak kontras sehingga terlihat cahaya mataharinya terlalu terang dan tidak natural pada foto pengendara motornya. I am currently learning to use GIMP to edit photos, and it requires patience and perseverance because this software is really not user friendly but even so I am trying to learn to master it at least with a target of sixty to eighty percent of the features I have used.
Back to the photo above, I edited the photo to make it clearer and the results are like the photos below this post. There are two editing results, the first I used the soft light and moderate shadow and highlight layer mode features which the results were quite satisfying for me because I could see other objects, while in the second photo I used the same feature but used a slightly contrasting highlight rate so that the sunlight looks too bright and unnatural in the photo of the motorcyclist.
