Hello photo lovers,
I tried to photograph the Easter processions in Malaga during the holy week. And I already showed you a nice series in a post from two weeks ago and now it's time for part two. I made so many pictures that day that I needed to split it up.
I changed locations half way in the day and I ended up in a big square. It looked like the main location of the procession because they build a complete stand were hundreds of people could sit. It felt a bid like a VIP stand. I couldn't get in front of that stand because it was extremely busy there. So I stayed at the back and could see the people of the procession line up nicely.
Some people were walking the whole procession bare feet. They told me that do that to show "god" as apenance for their regret or as some "offer" so that god can let their prayers come out.
It looks like an easy job to carry the statues but I heard they are really heavy. They often put them down to rest. I think I took this picture at a resting moment.
These things are really big.
Many people watch the procession from their balcony's.
And some of those balcony's are decorated with these flags. I am not sure what those flags mean but it could be of the different groups that are walking in the procession. At least that is what i think, it probably is something ells.
And they light up a lot of incense. That smell made me think of the church back in the old day's. Yes I was obligated to go to church with my parents on Sunday's.
