Generative AI removal tool! And my first poll!

in Photography Lovers5 months ago

Hello photo lovers!

During my travels trough Spain, I took a nice picture of a road with the mountains in the back!
I like the layers in this picture and the olive and almond trees! But when I stood there, it really annoyed me that on this small stretch of road, there were that much signs!

Look, about eight signs in 100 meters! how stupid do you think we are? 😅
But when I stood there I thought about the latest AI lightroom feature and this would be a nice way to test it thoroughly!

You can highlight the object you want to remove very easy! Just like a paintbrush! You can easily adjust the size of the brush, even while you are already working with it!

And the results are really good! But it does need some extra attention! In the red circles there is just a little to much blur! But I used the old clone stem to remove that!

And LR didn't remove this sign good enough! He made a complete new sign of it! But when you use the AI removal tool, you get three different outcomes of the removal! The second one was a bit better and I removed the rest of the sign with the clone tool!

And the result looks very good if I may say so!

And what photo editing program do you use? That's a nice question to figure out this new poll tool!
I see that the poll name is the same as the title of my post! I think that could be different! My poll is an extra in this post, not the main subject!

Lets go and vote! And tell me what you like about that tool! Light room is very nice but maybe there are cheaper better options!

That's some amazing work. I imagine it will only get better. So many signs in the short distance feels like a powerpoint presentation. The final outcome is excellent, and I wouldn't have noticed if I had just seen it by itself. I've used the AI removal in Google photos, and it works great. It's particularly good for removing people from a scene. These new tools will open a lot of new options for photographic creativity.

For the poll, I use OM Workspace (formerly Olympus) software to edit photos in PC. I rarely edit photos in the phone but when I do I use Google photos or OI Share (also Olympus).

Ofcours, I forgot about the remove tool on my mobile. I have that to. And do you still shoot with olympus?

I do shoot with my Olympus tough TG6. The TG7 is out under the OM Systems brand, but it's not a major update from the TG6. It's a rugged little camera with many bells and whistles. It's a lot of fun to use and highly portable.

I was thinking of buying a bit more compact camera too. One for the city and street photography.

There might be better cameras out there available for street photography, but the TG7 has a few other things that might be of interest. This guy has a good review of this camera. He's a great resource for photography in general.

He also created a guide for street photography to give you a sense of the camera capabilities. Good luck finding new photography gear. It's very exciting.

Thanks mate, really helpful. For now it's just dreaming a little bit of new gear 😅🙈 crypto market needs to go up a bit again 😅

I picked the Adobe Photoshop because it's kind of the only one I'm familiar with

That software is versatile and powerful but can be really expensive (and the terms of use not so agreeable) though. 🤔🤯😎😅

Wow really 🤔🤔 I don't really use it now though

I wonder what you use as your primary image processing app. 🤔😏

I have looked at gimp once, it looks very much like PS and it's free

I had to vote Adobe photoshop even though I’m not really familiar with all including editing pictures and all

It needs a lot of practise

Nice use of the poll feature! And, I think that the image had a successful outcome between you and the AI tool. I did think it was quaint to have that many signs on the same patch of road and in and of itself showed a lot of character, photographically speaking. But, the signs do ruin the natural ambiance of the landscape. Keep up the great work!

Thank you! Yes, this tool did a good job! And I forgot to take a picture of the good side of the signs😅

I have Lightroom, an old one, no AI tools there but I love it.

When I need Photoshop (for preview pictures, for example), I use this one: photopea.com Photoshop online

Going to check that out some day, thanks mate💪
