Over the past year, I've been gathering food photos taken at different restaurants and street food vendors. I love taking food photos and now that I have quite a collection, I thought I'd post them here, to show you what we've been tasting. It's always interesting to see what people are eating all over the world and now it's my turn.
So I recommend you go eat something, fill your (alleged) empty stomach, so you won't get hungry by looking at these photos.
Let's start with the most recent set, which was taken on Friday.
What you see here is pork ribs, potatoes with chili and garlic. This was not mine, but I'm planning to try it out next time because I was told it's heavenly good.
Mushroom cream soup in a small round loaf. This was my soup and the reason why I wanted to try this out was the loaf. It's not completely rare to see soup served in round loaf in my country, a lot of restaurants have it on the menu, but you can only get some type of soups, mostly creamy, thick soups because the loaf gets wet quickly from thin soups and you can end up with your soup on the table.
In this restaurant they only serve one garlic soup in loaf, but I asked for a favor and they said yes. The crust of the loaf is thick and you get to enjoy the soft part soaking up the creamy soup, so I can guarantee you, it was heavenly good.
Tagliatelle with truffle sauce. This was mine. I had my eye on this dish for 2 years I think, maybe one and a half and could not get it out of my head, so now was the time to taste it. If you like tagliatelle, cheese and truffle, this is like heaven to you. The creamy cheese and the truffle make it really special.
Corn cake with cheese and pumpkin cream. This is a dessert you don't find anywhere, I can guarantee you that. Corn cake is not popular at all here. Corn is mostly, if not exclusively, used to make polenta (it is called mamaliga in Romanian, but most people know it as polenta, the Italian term of the dish). However, you can make a cake using corn flour and add cheese and also use pumpkin cream and pumpkin chips to decorate it. I wish I could send you some and this is a must taste if you haven't already. I also make corn cake at home, in a different way and am using chocolate, cocoa and even cherry or raisins to make it special.
This is pork ribs with gravy and potatoes with chili and garlic. Similar to what you see on the first photo, but the sauce and the potatoes are different. I really need to try this out as everyone is praising it.
Knuckle of ham with mashed potatoes. With the risk of repeating myself, this dish is also on my list. the truth is, it is heavenly good, no doubt about it, but it's a bit heavy for my stomach, but once in a blue moon I think it's ok to have a heavy meal, if you can balance your food intake for the day.
Chicken breast with cheese, crispy bacon, served with spicy sauce. I haven't had the pleasure to try this one out, but had it at another restaurant and I know it's a dish you don't want to miss.
Pork cheek with celery pure. I had this last year and although I'm not best friends with celery, it was excellent. The pork is literally melting in your mouth.
I asked for a portion of French fries in case I can't eat he celery cream, but it wasn't the case.
After so many meals, let's see some desserts.
I'm tagging @mipiano here, because she may know what this is. For those of you who don't, this is a horn cake ice cream. I bet you don't find it elsewhere, apart from my country, as horn cake is a traditional Hungarian sweet, which is popular in Romania too, but not filled with ice cream.
This was not mine, I could not have one after eating a full menu and I tell you why. The horn cake itself it enough for a normal snack and boosts your calorie intake quite a lot. And if that wasn't enough, the horn case is coated with chocolate in the inside, the filled with two types of ice cream, which then is sprinkled with chocolate chips or crumbs and you get a wafer on top. I don't even want to know how many calories such an ice cream means, but I'm going to try it out one day, for sure.
Instead of a horn cake ice cream, I opted for this one, which is served in a wafer. I can't say this is healthier because as you can see, it has a topping, but it's still lighter than the horn cake ice cream. My strategy is to always opt for a sour and a sweet one, which is usually some kind of fruit ice cream and chocolate.
This wasn't mine, but I see it's similar. It's most likely berries and chocolate.
God, I wish I could have these now.
Last, but not least, a lemonade, if you're thirsty. If not, you can have one anyway as it's heavenly good.
This is it for today. I hope I didn't make you hungry, but if I did, I'm happy 😆
Let me know in a comment, which one is your favorite, or favorites, if you have more than one you'd like to try out.
