Today I'd like to show you more beauties from the textile art exhibition. I had two busy days in which my screen time has been little to none. I had to finish an important project as there was a deadline, but here I am today, back to my favorite topic, which is art. To tell you the truth, I miss art a lot, but these past two months I had so many things to do that visiting exhibitions and posting about art were the only two things I could do regarding art. Anyway, let's see what I have in store for today.
Cornelia Brustureanu - Scuar
At first site, my reaction to this piece of textile was like love at first site, due to the colors.
I had to take some close up photos to see how it is made and I was really impressed. There's the base canvas, which is black, then there's the colored, brownish canvas and there's the black floral part, that is embroidered I think. It is high quality for sure.
Elena Denisa Cristescu - Herbal Elements
This piece of textile is woven, by hand. The pattern is pretty geometrical and I like the colors.
Evhenia Goreaceva - Leaf Whispering
I had to take a photo from the side for you to see the details as I'm afraid the front view doesn't give out much. Most likely most of you have never tried to create something woven. I have tried it, but only at school at a very small scale. It's a fun thing, but you have to have the design ready and follow it strictly, if you want results.
Anca Frantz - Unwritten Story
When I first saw this piece, my first thought was that it looks like some kind of hippy art/symbol or whatever, but I knew right away that it's not just some random work by mistake.
The title of the artwork is Unwritten Story. If you look at the close up, partial photos, you can see how detailed those small boxes are and in my opinion, each box can be a story.
While I was looking at the details, was wondering what came first. The idea of creating such a textile artwork, or this wonderful canvas with all those details and that's how the idea was born? If the idea came first, how and where do you find the perfect canvas for your work?
I love it and even though it's not my style and taste, would be happy to have it on my wall. These detailed works have an effect on my, I tend to look at them and think of a thousand things and this fits perfectly in this category.
Lucia Puscasu - Cloud Columns
This seemed a bit abstract to me, but loved the color combination.
Look at how delicate it is. I admire artists who are capable of creating such artworks and just hope I can create something acceptable one day. Not great, just acceptable.
Ilona Sajgó - Model With Hoodie
Seeing this beauty made me smile. I knew this piece before as I attended Ilona Sajgó's solo exhibition and this one made an impression on me and would have been happy to buy it for the lovely colors and the concept, but it was too big (long) for my wall.
The funny thing is, as I visit almost all available exhibitions and have a very good visual memory, plus take photos of everything, when I see an artwork that I've seen before, I remember exactly where I saw it, when and can even remember its place on the wall. This may seem weird, but this is how it is.
I love this and will remember it with pleasure. It's a lovely concept and the execution is just as perfect.
Natalia Simona Udrea - Ancient Cycles
This is felting, a technique that fascinates me and have never had the occasion to try it out. It's very different because you have the possibility to mix the colors as you like. This color combination is lovely, pleasant to the eye. I'd be happy to own this one.
I'm curious to see if you have a favorite and which it is. Let me know in a comment.
