Have you ever been inside an Orthodox Church? This was my first time visiting an Orthodox Church. The first thing that struck me or stood out, was the pictures of saints, and of Jesus Christ, present inside the church. Much more than any typical Baptist or Pentecostal type church. I found this interesting. Another thing I noticed was the absolute cleanliness of the interior (and exterior). Spotless and beautiful. The word Orthodox means: Adhering to the accepted traditions of the Christian faith (in general terms). What is your faith, if any?

I would imagine that the images you saw in the Orthodox Church are similar to those you would find in a Catholic Church. They are likely used as reminders, just as keeping a photo of your mother in your home might bring her to mind when you see it.

God himself commanded the creation of some three dimensional images, or statues. For example, gold Cherubim (Ex. 25:18-20) and a bronze serpent on a staff (Num. 21:8-9). I believe that even some Protestant Churches display Nativity scenes with statues during the Christmas season. Not for worship, but as a visual reminder of the event.

As for bowing to an image, there is bowing in respect, and then there is bowing in worship. Like in Japan, people often bow when meeting someone, out of respect, not worship.

Beautiful. I was in an Orthodox church with some Ukrainian friends. It was during service, it was very full with people & there was a lot of incense!
My faith you ask, put simply; I believe in good. I believe in love. ❤️✨

Interesting, I've never been in an Orthodox. You got some interesting pictures out of it. I'm not particularly religious, but I find it fascinating to learn about religious history. Mostly because the world we have today was forged out of religion, and always has been.

To answer your query...What is your faith..if any?

Protestant...studying under a Pastor who teaches from the original languages in the Bible...of Hebrew, and Greek. Psalm 119...Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light into my path.

I've been to this church before. The Eastern Orthodox have very similar outward appearances to the Catholic Eastern Church (e.g. Ukrainian Catholic Church), which is just a part of the one Catholic/Roman Catholic Church. I am a traditional Latin rite Catholic, so we have different imagery in our part of the Church.

I can understand that had a similar thing at Batu Caves in KL my first ever Hindu Temple or temples to be exact as there are 3 or 4 built int the caves. Really took my breath away but that could just have been the 270 odd steps to get up to them. No pain no gain
