RE: Beauties From The Festival

in Photography Lovers9 days ago

I love to see things made by human hands, I'm glad we can still enjoy such objects... until they are all replaced by industrial ones, made by... robots! I remember with pleasure that in my youth I also made many of this kind of things, from marionettes to this kind of wire and metal jewelry. Of course, not so beautiful.

Natural leather, what a pleasure to find objects made of this material. I liked the sandals with this Roman pattern. I wore them in my early youth, and I can confirm that they lasted many years.

There are such fairs in Bucharest. I recently visited one and I will write about it. Unfortunately, they are more commercial, and a wide range of objects is sold, from handmade items to antiques, of varying ages.

Sort:

This particular festival is dedicated to crafts alone, so what is sold is made by the crafters and they are only allowed to sell what they make. Many of them are holding workshops as well as that is required.

As I see it, they want to bring handmade products back and are doing a great job. We have a fair for local producers, every three weeks for years and people love it.

Yes, genuine leather is now only for the upper class I'd say and for those who choose quality over look or design. I don't call myself upper class but only have leather shoes and don't intend to change my habit or taste. You can buy good quality footwear at a reasonable price if you're smart and know how.

I'm surprised to learn that you were making craft items when you were younger. I used to as well and still do, but time is scarce these days 😬 Or should I say I prioritize trading and studying more.

Now I understand. These recurring fairs are worth seeking out, and I know why they are successful.
Time, yes, is so valuable, I feel it painfully...
Of course, you have to choose, prioritize; you can't do them all.
Is trading going that well?
