I asked to myself if Liguria is a sea land, or a mountain land.
Liguria has many mountains behind the coast. Past people lived here in isolated town, always fighting against the invading enemy. It is why I like to define these inhabitants 'mountaineer people', living in an hard environment.
And yes, in front of mountains there is a beautiful sea, the Mediterranean, but I like to think at the sea like an horizontal mountain, with water surface like the roughness of infinite rocky peaks.
Where air is very clear, in some rare winter days, you can see faraway Maritime
Alps (the summits you see are 150 km faraway)!
You can notice also Morgana effect: the houses seem mirrored into the sea, due to colder temperature of the air near sea surface (the opposite of a mirage, where the air near the ground is hottest).
