It was not like that on a fine morning, I woke up and chose to be a minimalist, and my life got drastically changed. It's a process that takes time, slowly but steadily, and the effects are also visible slowly. I do not even know exactly when it got started but could be 2021 when I started getting familiarized with these concepts and the thoughts of adapting minimalistic approaches started peaking on my mind knowing it is one of the minimalistic rulesets or not, it came naturally and got synced.
I don't wanna discuss how it improved my life much as I have already said in other posts. Not going with points but as a whole, I would say it lessens your burdens of getting scattered in a messy life. I have an organized lifestyle, and my goals are always ahead of me, clear and vibrant. I have my priorities and relations in place with proper management, know what are the missing parts of me, and what I need to do. I mean, I have a clear vision of the life ahead of me, and I clearly understand how my life is going or has gone so far and the things to come. Usually, we just lose the outline of our lives, and we get so messy that things keep failing over and over again with some serious penalties to bear.
Advice for My Younger Self:
Hey little me,
No need to stress about life, it's gonna flow as it is meant to be, just hold the rudder and rotate as you please just don't get rude or ignorant with that. Here is some advice to keep in mind while you ride on the vast sea. I know most of the things come as you ride, yet a few pieces of advice from yourself have already gone from the route.
The first and foremost advice will be is be true to yourself. I don't know how exactly it falls under the rulesets of minimalism but it is the gateway to many things in life. If we do injustice to ourselves then life is bound to go sideways, nothing can bring this to track. If you are true to yourself then no storm can grasp you easily.
Letting go of things is another lifelong achievement. Oftentimes there will be some situations that hurt more than letting go, works like a slow poison as long as you keep holding, it's better to let go. What's the use of making a clutter of things that we can easily just let go of? whether be it something materialistic or spiritual applies to both.
Time management is what I am still struggling with and it proved to be the biggest hindrance in my life. Yeah, they say "Time is money, and investing it wisely yields the best returns." if you suck at time management then you are sure to suck at everything.
I have realized that it is quality that should be prioritized over quantity. If we can maintain the quality of the things we possess or do then it will surely outnumber the quantity.
Money? Oh yeah, spend it well and invest in yourself, which will yield better returns. This particular thing can ruin it all if not managed with care, be wise with money, it's the most mysterious thing that drives us crazy if not kept within limits.
So yeah, that's how the impacts were on me and I would be advising my younger self to embrace minimalism for a clutter-free life and have clarity.
