Improve to be able to give more importance to the most essential things

Minimalism has affected my life a lot, honestly I have been practicing it for a long time at least in some aspects of my life and it is not until a few years ago that I know that the desire to have a simple life in which more essential, natural and spiritual things are prioritized had a name and since then I have understood more about this way of life.

Some of the things I have learned in this process is to feel a little more, now I value very much to appreciate and feel the moments I live and not just see the days as one more and already, the networks and the thousands of easy responsibilities can rob us of that, but if you are aware you manage to handle it and I can say that it is one of the most valuable things I've learned, because the days used to pass quickly and sometimes without remembering what I had done.

Having a healthy life, is for me, an essential part of having a minimalist lifestyle, being clear that what you do or don't do for your body has consequences, is something that honestly helps motivate you to make changes, improve and of course develop healthy habits. But obviously we don't get everything perfect, we still have struggles.

But part of becoming more aware of who you are and what you need to improve is also learning to realize the things you fail at or simply what you need to work on more to improve. Speaking of that, I can say that things I now know about the importance of good habits have made me want to have them, be healthy, feel emotionally better and of course have a better quality of life, I know this very well and I try hard to remember it every time I try to keep a good habit.

Although I have managed to become part of my routine some of these good habits, the reality is that I tend to be inconsistent with others, I know that a habit can sometimes be a big change for a life doing something wrong and changing it requires time and above all to be able to mentalize, but in my case it costs me a lot to acquire habits like exercising at least 3 days a week, even when I have very clear how beneficial it will be for me.

Being able to be constant and disciplined is part of focusing on what is essential, part of giving priority to what is good for us and discarding what brings us burdens, having a sedentary life is for me a kind of burden, something that brings you only negative things, such as physical discomfort, lack of flexibility and even mobility, which honestly makes it difficult to have a good quality of life, and although I usually walk daily, I do not do it at the pace of what should be done when exercising.

So as a personal goal, I plan to be more consistent and conscious in this aspect, to maintain a good exercise routine that contributes to my mobility, flexibility and also to my physical and mental well-being. To do this, since it is not something I love, I will have to put up with it a little, do it unwillingly and force my body and mind, until I manage to make it something I want to do for the benefits it brings me.

I must admit with some embarrassment that I have started several years with exercise routines that I abandon a few days after starting them, and I get a little annoyed with the me of the past for not having made more of an effort and making it easier for the me of the present. My plan is to start slowly, exercises that I can enjoy such as walking (at an appropriate pace) and running, and then move on to others that are more complex for me.

I must say that although this is something in which I fail, there has been a big mental change in this time, because before I did not even think about exercising or how beneficial it is, it was simply something that I ignored and this is something that I must recognize and value, because it is part of what has brought me to want to have a simpler life, but at the same time a more conscious and present life.

What a sweet meditation on being present. I definitely know what you mean about days passing without remembering what you've done. For me, that is still a work in progress, being more present.

As for the exercise, I've heard a lot of nutritionists and such say the best exercise routine is the one you can reasonably expect to stick to. Rather than force yourself to work out, maybe you can figure out which activities you enjoy doing and try to incorporate them more into your life. For example, I dislike traditional gym workouts, but try to stay active throug walking a lot, swimming and yoga. I'm sure you'll get there, since you have such a lovely attitude. Good luck and thanks for sharing with us this wonderful post 🤗

You don’t have to be embarrassed about you abandoning your exercise routines. We all do sometimes. It’s good to hear you are now being conscious about and you’re going to start slowly till you reach your target.

Same as you, I didn't know it is called minimalist lifestyle until I joined this platform and it's been all form of enjoyment and peace since then.
