Just Me

in The MINIMALIST7 months ago

The first time I got the understanding of 'me-time' was in the year 2021. I registered for an online class for Ladies which lasted for about six weeks. I was pregnant with my daughter and at that time, I was super focused on growth.
During one of the lectures, the facilitator talked about me-time she said a lot of things about how important it is to us as ladies.
I took everything I learnt seriously and I began to practice it, starting with decluttering. It was so amazing how I began to see results within a little time.

The me-time is very important for our health and wellbeing as individuals. It is good for our body and mind as well.
Now, I wake up very early in the morning, trying to fix things for everyone for a good day. When I go to work in the morning, I'm working for my boss and I need to do everything I'm required to do perfectly all that is required of me. In the evenings, I still try to put things together for everyone to be comfortable. At the end, I haven't done anything for me.

My 'me time' is that time dedicated to being with myself. No interference, that is the time I focus on me alone, enjoying my company and shutting out every other thing. I just do what I usually do to put me back together in one piece after all the busy schedules of the day. I have my me-time late evenings when I have sorted everyone out and sent my kids to bed. I lay on the bed or on the floor face up. I start with taking deep breaths just to help me relax, this works like magic, before reflecting on the day's activities. I ask myself questions about the day, I give answers and after that, I note some of the lessons learnt for the day.

It is during my me-time that I get to make both small and big plans about my life in general. I plan for the next day and week depending on my mood. One thing you will find with me is my note and pen, just to put things down as I get inspired.
I could watch a movie, depending on my mood or enjoy some of my favorite music until I retire to bed and call it a day.

I have discovered that I feel healthy after this, I don't feel stressed or fatigue except there is a major issue bothering me. And during this time, I try to find a way around it.
My me-time plays a major role towards my productivity so, I don't joke with it.
I have my me time during week days late evenings, but on weekends, I have it in the afternoons before my nap.

This is my response to the Kiss prompt for the week.
Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate you. Let me know what you think about this in the comments.

Yours truly @aunty-tosin💕💕
