In my opinion, I don’t think gifts are meant to be called unwated, I say this because a person or people uses their thoughts and energy into getting you a gift either for your birthday or based on the festive period; either christmas or easter or new year.
Now, I’m not sayin these are the only times or situations you can be given gifts though. You can also be given gifts by your lover, husband, wife or even family members for reasons best known to them.
Now, maybe, just maybe, you can actually call a gift unwanted when you don’t like said gift(s).
There are people like me who can’t turn down gifts given to them even if they dont like said gifts. There have been times when I have been given gifts by friends but I can’t tell them I don’t like it because they might feel bad about it or see me as ungrateful person 🤷🏽♀️
I have already come to terms with the fact that I am a very sentimental person. So even when someone gove me a gift and I don’t like said gift I won’t be able to reject it and just accept it, but then it ends ip being a decoration on my table or in my room.
Now, when I am the one asking someone to give me a gift, it always goes like this “I want something I can keep and use to remember you, not something that I will just eat amd forget” and funny enough when I am given something in this context I am always soo happy 😋☺️
Now, this kind of gifts I wouldn’t mind 😋 I mean who doesn’t like good smelling perfumes. Get me gifts along these lines or clothes, shoes or heels and I’ll be smiling till the end of the day and even the next day whenever I see it or use it I’ll remember you got if for me and it would make me happy again.
These on the other hand 🫠😬 when I was a little girl they would probably freak me and make me happy but now? Not soo much.
You can say these fall in the category of “if given to me, I wouldn’t be able to say no”. I feel like this because the sentimental part of me always goes “but they used their hard earned money to buy it ooo” in this situation so I jusy smile and accept.
I decided on a solution to when I find myself in this “predicament” 🫣. Soo, my mum has a shop where she sells different things in a bus park soo most of the times when people( either the drivers or conductors or any body that may probably know my mum or dad) gifts me things like biscuits or drinks I accept them and thank them heartily and when they leave I keep them back and collect the monwy from my mum to put back in my account.
It may seem like not the best solution but it’s better than collecting only to leave it at home and it gets spoilt 🤷🏽♀️
