Extreme is a hard one for me because Whole Hearted and more than words are so sweet and tender, but most of their other music isn't anything like that. It's kind of like a bait and switch.

The are an enigma. At heart they are a hard rock band but do acoustic, melodic songs as well. So people who liked their softer songs didn't always like their metal songs, and vice versa. I would almost think that they must be Air Supply fans who also liked hard rock. Ironically, their softer stuff really made famous!
yeah, I don't think anyone but real metal heads will likely know them for their other stuff. I always leaned towards their radio hits, but I appreciate their other stuff too.
