Where Did Our Goal Posts Go ?!

It is the first Saturday of the year 2024 and I'm glad I'm part of it . Saturday mornings for me is usually set aside for playing football with the boys . Today of course won't be an exception.

I woke up this morning, dusted my boots and found my way to the football field . Football is a game I enjoy playing a whole lot so playing football every Saturday mornings is more or less a ritual for me. It is the way I try to keep my body fit and sharp .

On getting to the field this morning , we got to find out our goal posts suddenly are nowhere to be found. This was quite shocking and sad at the same time because we all contributed money to make them. In place of the goal posts we improvised car tyres as the goal posts .

Normally it's a 5-aside set gameplay with 10 minutes interval , but the unavailability of the goal posts forced us to play 4-aside with 10 minutes interval as well . That was not just it , guys didn’t really turn up to the field today also. I guess most people are still with their families . Probably by next week there will be much turn up .

While today's turnout might have been less than usual, the smaller game allowed for tighter teamwork and closer connections on the field. Perhaps, these smaller set gameplay fostered a sense of intimacy and encouraged closer interaction among those who made it.

Despite the unexpected turn of events at the field, the spirit of the game prevailed. Adapting to the situation and improvising with car tyres as goal posts shows the resilience among we the players. It's moments like these that make the bond among friends even stronger.

As it is we need to contribute money to make another set of goal post . I'm sure we will be able to get this done and this time around get to secure it adequately. Happy Weekend!
